13.01.2022 The mood of the police family becomes sombre and somewhat reflective as Police Remembrance Day draws near. Most of us have known a colleague who has lost his or her life in the line of duty. Nothing strikes closer to the heart of the police community than the death of a mate and colleague.... Police Remembrance Day keeps the images of our fallen renewed in our hearts and memories. Firmly in the consciousness of the Police Association and its members this Remembrance Day will be our four lost Victorian brothers and sister. Along with our own 61 - who have fallen since 1847 - we will acknowledge and honour: Leading Senior Constable Lynette Taylor. Constable Glen Humphris. Senior Constable Kevin King. Constable Josh Prestney. COVID-19 precautions will limit the attendance at memorial services so a live stream of the national Police Remembrance Day service will be available from 4:30pm on Tuesday, September 29 at this link vimeo.com/event/299960 The SAPOL website will also have a tribute. Please honour those who gave their lives in service to others.
