19.01.2022 There is a romantic notion that we will never cease having desires when we meet our beloved. Our animal nature will shut down. We will be blind to other people. We wont crave adventure, change or being with ourselves more than our partner. We are sold fairytales of endless undying passion, sex at least 3 times a week and we should be seamlessly happy!... These perceptions threaten our internal and external peace. It places unrealistic parameters on our relationship and lover. And it fosters secrets, longing, comparing and affairs. Desire becomes an unspoken dangerous subject and builds its own life force. Two things can happen. 1.A force builds around the object of your desire, with its own persona from the unspoken need, and you can begin to attach great meaning and false impressions of what it will provide, who they are and your fulfillment. Chasing desire through a tight funnel of your suppressed self permission, creates a disfunctional unsatiable hunger. Energetically this is an overactive sacral chakra imbalance 2. It will take energy from other places, to move around the kink and shut down pathways elsewhere. And so our body struggles to get juicy in intimacy. The Let down in our emotional world translates as lack of Let down in our hormones, circulatory system and lubrication system. We so often underestimate that we are the gate keepers of our genitals and those that violate our trust, hinder our opening in bed. But that self violation also occurs. When weve shut down from our internal cues and fail to take action, to create mutual understanding when weve been triggered, betrayed and hurt. Its important we constantly establish the conditions in our relationships to help us feel respected and cared for. These are unique guidelines for every couple. Working through things within a timely manner is necessary for healing. Not all of us are good at holding ourselves under conflict, if weve not been modelled how to do it well or weve experienced violence. And so we might not speak up about our needs, or truly express our primary emotion. Which is why Im big on practices that help ease the kinks out of the hose.
