21.01.2022 If you are thinking of hiring a new employee, or have hired a new employee since 7 October 2020, you may be eligible for JobMaker payment. This is a new scheme to encourage businesses to employ young job seekers between 16 to 35 years of age. The new scheme is open for registrations from 6 December 2020. Key features of the scheme are as follows:... The scheme runs for 12 months from 7 October 2020. Registrations are through ATO Online Services or through your Registered Tax Agent Eligible employers receive $200 per week for each additional eligible employee aged 16 to 29 years and $100 per week for each additional eligible employee aged 30 to 35 years. To be eligible, the employee must have worked at least 20 hours per week on average over the JobMaker period. The employee must have received JobSeeker Payment, Youth Allowance or Parenting Payment for at least 28 consecutive days out of the 84 days prior to starting employment. The employer must not be receiving JobKeeper payment. The employer must meet eligibility conditions such as being registered for PAYG Withholding, hold a current ABN, be registered for STP (Single Touch Payroll) and be up to date with lodgement obligations. Payment will be made three months in arears and the first payment will be open on 1 February 2021. Your business must be registered to receive the credit.
