25.01.2022 Apologies - shes a long one! . To the passionfruit community, . It almost seems redundant to say that this has been the most challenging and tiring of my life. Even though the threat may seem distant, there are ongoing issues that continue to dog all in the industry. We have tried hard to pivot with every challenge that the year has thrown at us and I am proud that we survived 2020. Like many/most in town, I have had great difficulties finding and retaining suitable staff.... It has meant that those of us who are available to work have been burning the candle at both ends. I wouldn’t usually take two weeks off at the end of the year, but I decided it was best for me and my staff to have a real break. . Going forward, in order to maintain a sense of normality, work/life balance & circadian rhythm, I have decided that the shop hours will change in 2021. I was proud to be able to show that a little coffee shop could prove a busy enterprise 7 days a week, even in this small town we call home. I have worked hard for the past two years to be available 7 days a week but have deduced that it’s not sustainable for me going forward. My aim is to refocus my attention back to the quality of the coffee (which is why you’re here) as opposed to just striving to remain open 7 days a week.
