18.01.2022 Happy World Eating Disorders Action Day from Australia! The Fifth Annual World Eating Disorders Action Day (WEDAD) is today - June 2 2020, across the globe. Ta...ke a peek at what our families and loved ones have been up to in the lead up to WEDAD 2020! We hope you enjoy it!! Eating Disorders Families Australia (EDFA) is a lived-experience volunteer, not-for-profit organisation run by parents and carers of people with eating disorders. https://youtu.be/jv87JUWH7Ro or: https://drive.google.com//1z3DvcPiHRIIFh4bpDDnhiUwpL/view A HUGE thank you to everyone who participated - the parents, carers, sufferers, friends/relatives - You all sang so beautifully! A special bigger thank you to Issy Condello who has amazing musical talent and technical skills to put it all together. Issy is the talented daughter of one of our member families. We are very much committed to and excited about our roll-out of on-line strive parent/carer support groups and education sessions. EDFA are working towards having a strive support group in every Australian state and territory by the end of July 2020. We have had to adapt to the changes that the Covid19 pandemic has brought about and already have six strive online support groups up and running and our third education session is on tonight. EDFA is looking forward to the future and making a positive difference for families and carers in their quest to bring their loved ones to recovery. EDFA’s vision is to strive for An Australia where eating disorders struggle to emerge, thrive or persist. p.s. If you missed out on sending in your song video, do not despair as we will be continuing the quest to gather as many voices as we can from around the world to be added to this video for next year's Pass the Baton Ball and WEDAD 2021 celebrations. #wedoact2020 #shareyourstory #passthebaton4eatingdisorders World Eating Disorders Day @worldeatingdisordersday

15.01.2022 EDFA has been privileged to review and provide feedback on a new online Carers program being developed by the Insideout Institute. This program, which consists of 5 modules that Carers can work through in their own time, provides loads of information to upskill your knowledge, access resources and educate you on how to support both yourself and your loved one during their illness and recovery. Attached is a link to register your interest in this program which hopes to go live in either August/September this year. https://insideoutinstitute.org.au//coming-soon-insideout-s #passthebaton4eatingdisorders

08.01.2022 Here she is. She’s done it. Our hero! And doesn't she look Awesome!! Really suits her! . Amelia has raised over $8000 for EDFA. Our most successful private fundraiser to date. We couldn’t have our ball this year to raise funds due to Covid-19 yet we desperately need them to continue our family support and education work around the country. We are all volunteers. Parents and Carers with lived experience helping families and Carers who are fighting the daily battle against deadly eating disorders. It’s not too late for others to contribute. https://www.gofundme.com/f/call-me-2007-britney-im-shaving-. #passthebaton4eatingdisorders #wedad2020

03.01.2022 Happy World Eating Disorders Action Day! Eating Disorders Can’t Afford to Wait! The Fourth Annual World Eating Disorders Action Day is 2 June 2020, across the globe.... Eating Disorders Families Australia (EDFA) is a volunteer, not-for-profit organisation and has existed to date without any government funding, relying solely on fundraising and small donations to continue to progress its work. As you may be aware, due to Covid19, EDFA has postponed its Pass the Baton Gala Ball until the 5th June 2021. This means that the funding we were working so hard to raise for our work to support and educate families is not available for another 12 months. Although this is terribly disappointing, we are soldiering on and very much committed to and excited about EDFA's roll-out of on-line support groups in every state and territory by the end of July 2020. We have had to adapt to the changes that the Covid19 pandemic has brought about and already have six strive online support groups up and running. We will also continue to provide monthly on-line educational workshops for families around Australia. In the absence of our Pass the Baton Ball, where we would be "passing the baton for eating disorders" to mark the occasion of World Eating Disorders Action Day, please consider a small donation to Amelia’s Headshave fundraiser for EDFA's work to support and educate families. Amelia is a courageous and generous young lady and the best friend of one of our member's daughter's. Amelia wanted to support EDFA whilst challenging beauty stereotypes. She has touched many lives as a result of her campaign and in doing so, has raised more than $8,000 for EDFA. Many of you have already donated to this campaign and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts! EDFA is looking forward to the future and making a positive difference for families and carers in their quest to bring their loved ones to recovery. EDFA’s vision is to strive for An Australia where eating disorders struggle to emerge, thrive or persist. https://www.gofundme.com/f/call-me-2007-britney-im-shaving-
