22.01.2022 SUPER EASY BATHTUB TRAY Every time I buy my daughter bath bombs or bubble bars I see these handy bath tub shelf trays in all the photos. I don’t tend to have baths often but when I do I love to be able to read a book, have candles and even a glass of wine. As baths come in all shapes and sizes you can’t really purchase a one size fits all and that’s why its our DIY project today. All you need is to measure the width of the tub, purchase a cut or few cuts of timber or pick up... some reclaimed wood. You can also buy some small timber brackets or just use some timber offcuts for the support bars that hold it snug in the bath. Grab your timber and flip it upside down to mark where the supports need to go and then glue and screw them into place. Give your bath tray a light sand and a coat of waterproof varnish and let it cure and dry for at least 24 hours. Give it another coat and let cure again for another 48 hours or so. Then hooray your own perfectly fitting bath tray to rest all your items to make bath time relaxing and enjoyable. 11.01.2022 Here’s a great and fun little project for a funky kids bedroom or colourful lounge room feature. Got rid of the ping pong table but you’re now left with a heap of ping pong balls and you just don’t know what to do with them? It’s time to repurpose and turn them into a pendant light shade! For a large 6x circular row (45cm diameter shade) you will need 180 ping pong balls. Each row contains 30 balls. However you can make small shades depending upon the quantity of balls you ha...ve, even a lamp shade would be cool!. Get a cheap wire frame from the local lighting or hardware store. Spray balls in groups using a different colour for each group. Once dry drill a small hole with a needle into opposite ends of each ball. Using nylon thread make garlands knotting one end first then pulling thread through each ball from one hole to the other (like beading) filling up the string until all balls are used to the diameter size of your frame; tie the wire up against the last ball. Tie the garland of balls around the lampshade structure, repeat next garland, and so on until the entire shade is covered. 07.01.2022 Such a great little idea... LACE LANTERNS/LIGHT SHADES These are a great little indoor decor project that will give your spaces a super chic look! All you need is a balloon (or a few if you want to make a string of smaller fairy lights), craft or PVA glue (must dry clear), your choice of lace in any design and colour and of course a pendant bulb or string of fairy lights.... Blow your balloon to the desired size, paint on the craft glue, neatly and smoothly wrap the lace around the sticky balloon, apply another layer of glue and then hang in a safe place to dry or until the balloon is deflated (24-48 hours)... its that easy!
