23.01.2022 I love this! And I’m sharing it for whoever needs this today because we all need a reminder every now and then. Focus on what you see in you and don’t worry about what anyone else thinks, their opinions and beliefs don’t matter, you decide what is true for you. All too often we can focus on the 1 negative instead of all the beautiful positives moments, experiences and people that surround us! Don’t give that 1 negative the time, it’s not worth it. 18.01.2022 Those of you who have been following me from the beginning will remember that I used to work primarily in reproduction fabrics, I made the switch about 8 years ago and haven’t looked back. My original ‘This Goes with That’ quilt was made in reproductions and as soon as I laid my eyes on the ‘Create’ fabric collection by fellow Riley Blake designer Kristy @quietplay I knew I wanted to remake this quilt that I made over 10 years ago. I’m not one for remaking designs but this on...e needed a face lift. You can’t help but smile when you look at all these bright and fun fabrics together. The perfect project for a beginner, this quilt is made up of various pieced hexagons. It can be put together in so many different ways and be made to whatever size you like! You will receive all the shapes you need to make the variations I have made in my version and you may just find one I haven’t discovered yet. You could also make a cushion, placemat or a wallhanging like I’ve mocked up here on a Gemstone background! This quilt is a bit of a mystery and it will allow you to make an assortment of pieced 2 1/2" hexagons which can be assembled in a random fashion. There are over 50 different combinations that you can make using the 8 shapes. 18.01.2022 The back should be just as pretty as the front. I haven’t always taken the time to pick nice backings due to time restraints and deadlines often letting my quilter put anything on the back. I love that the main print from Abbie makes choosing a backing so easy and cute! I love that I’ve have inspired many of you to pull your Quatro projects out and continue to work on them. 17.01.2022 Looking back through my photos, back when we could travel and my friends were taking me on a road trip through Yellowstone National Park, the Grand Tetons and Jackson Hole, Making snow angels and admiring the beauty that surrounded us. I had just finished my favourite quilt Quatro Colour and it was making its debut trip overseas. Although we’re unable to travel right now we can reflect on where we’ve been and dream of where we want to go once the world opens up again. It’s ok... to have a favourite right... it’s not like it’s a child or anything. Ok well there are a few favourites but my Quatro Colour quilt is up there in my top 3. Bright fabrics really make me happy and although I am a scrappy quilter at heart picking fabrics for this quilt really was very easy. I used my Bittersweet fabric collection which had 24 pieces and I added 26 basic prints. The hardest part for me was picking which fabric to use for the joiner blocks. For those of you who aren’t confident picking fabrics, designers have made this easy for you by creating fabric collections but I do encourage you to mix and match from your stash and put those 2 fabrics together that you wouldn’t dare pair up, especially when making a scrappy quilt like Quatro Colour as it will all come together and look beautiful in the end. Do I love every block in this quilt? No! But I love how they all work together. I get started and I can switch off to what’s going on around me, except when I’m trying a new stitch or the occasional time I miss a stitch it’s kinda like not realising you’ve run out of bobbin thread until you’ve sewn your last 100 blocks.... anyone else know what I’m talking about?
