25.01.2022 A successful Hazard Reduction burn at Mt George (Eaglereach) today. The Stage 2 area fuel was fairly sparse with a success of approximately 50 to 60% burnt. The... Stage 3 area fuel on the ground was thicker and a success rate of about 95% for that burn. Thanks for the support from other local brigades. 23.01.2022 Leading into the fire season, Hunter Valley Police District are appealing for assistance regarding a Break and Enter incident that occurred at a Rural Fire Serv...ices shed located in Sandy Hollow between the 11th and 12th October 2019. During this incident, several RFS items were alleged to have been stolen. Police believe the two males depicted may be able to assist with their inquires. The first male is described as being Caucasian appearance, tall, 25-30 years old and short beard/stubble. The second male is described as being Caucasian appearance, 25-30, short hair, solid build, wearing a long oilskin jacket. The males are believed to have gotten out of a white Holden Colorado utility or similar vehicle with a canvass canopy. Anyone with information, is asked to contact Muswellbrook Police Station on 65426999 or Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000. Alternatively you can report information via the internet on https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au. Information will be treated with the strictest of confidence.

Thoughts are with Darryl, Keith, Brett & family on the loss of Marj Jordan. Marj was a Lifetime Member of the Paterson Bridage and her contribution & detication over many years has brought the brigade to where it is today.
17.01.2022 The Bureau of Meteorology has forecast heat wave conditions to affect much of NSW until at least next Tuesday. This will increase the fire risk across much of state with Very High and Severe fire danger likely on the weekend. Plan and prepare now.
15.01.2022 The fire danger in the area today is Severe and a total fire ban is in place until midnight. In a Total Fire Ban no fire may be lit in the open and all fire permits are suspended. Under these conditions leaving early is the safest option for your survival. Only consider staying if you are prepared to the highest level such as your home is specially designed, constructed or modified, and situated to withstand a fire, you are well prepared and can actively defend it if a fire starts.

Awarded for service of a meritorious nature, or for outstanding actions in relation to fire service duties, administrative leadership, or for exemplary performance of a specific difficult project or task, not involving bravery. Group Captain Grahame Chevalley Gresford Brigade, Lower Hunter, Area Hunter Group Captain Grahame Chevalley has been an integral member of the Lower Hunter District for 26 years. A number of years ago, Group Captain Chevalley became a qualified Air Attack Supervisor (AAS). He has shown leadership and mentorship in developing and promoting the AAS role within and outside the District. Congratulations to all award recipients from Paterson Rural Fire Bridge members. Well deserved
