07.01.2022 Grand Sultan - Studio shot with 2 broncolor lights with soft boxes. Took 12 shots and focus stack (basically I focus on 12 designated points from the front leaves to the back petals) in photoshop to achieve an extremely sharp image (high depth of field). Please click on image to appreciate the detail!

02.01.2022 Second time lucky to capture the illusive mistletoebird!

02.01.2022 Something different, a grain of rice - capturing this one grain of rice requires a lot of preparation. A Canon MP-E 65mm macro lens, with up to 5 times magnification was used to achieve this goal. The camera and lens were attached to a focus rail, manually focusing on the rice at 1/3 of a millimetre in 21 progressive steps/action. Using software, the 21 images were stack together to produce this final image. Yes the grain of rice is only 7mm long!

01.01.2022 I had to climb a ladder to pick this beautiful camellia to photograph it. Pity I dont know the name!

01.01.2022 Scarlet Robin, male and female
