20.01.2022 We have a lot of people ask us: Are we open to the public yet? Unfortunately the answer is not yet.. but soon we hope! Re building the infrastructure to support a model railway has been a huge undertaking but our small number of dedicated volunteers have been chipping away at it every single weekend to get it to the standard required to be able to open to the public. It might not look like much when you look through the fence but hundreds of hours have gone into what you can see in the park so far and it’s not until you walk around inside that you realise the scale of work completed to date. We can’t wait to show it off to you all soon.
19.01.2022 Today we had the pleasure of joining the Whyalla model railway club for their annual open day. For the first time in over a decade we packed up our portable track and took it out of town for an event. A big thank you to the Whyalla club for inviting us along and to all the families that came along for a ride on the train.
18.01.2022 We are always looking for fresh new blood in the club if you are liking the kind of work what we are doing and wanting to become a member send us a message to find out more. :)
17.01.2022 A big thank you to everyone that came and helped at the busy bee today. We got a lot done one step closer to running trains, if you have any photos of today feel free to post them.
16.01.2022 We can't tell you how excited we are to be getting our trains out and taking our portable track over to Whyalla this Sunday to join the Whyalla Model Railway Society for their Free Open Day. We will be giving free train rides on the day, but please remember to wear closed in shoes for the train. Please share our poster to spread the word and help our neighbouring club to have a successful day.

07.01.2022 On May 8th 2018 the Port Augusta Train Park was approved an amount of grant funding to relocate our model railway to a new location in Port Augusta after our previous site was sold. Since then we have begun the absolutely mammoth task of relocating an entire Model Railway. With limited funds, some unexpected surprises and a huge learning curve so far we are starting to make some progress with the move. Would you like to be involved in re building the Model Railway in Port A...ugusta? Would you like to help ensure this attraction is around for the next generations of families and visitors to our town? We are holding a meeting at our new site on Sykes Oval This Saturday, April 27th from 10am. If you would like to become involved send us an inbox for more information. We would love to see you there!
07.01.2022 Bit by bit every weekend our volunteers work at putting the Port Augusta train park back together.
05.01.2022 Have been asked to share if anyone is interested let me know... I am looking to sell my model railway as we are shifting in the next 12 months or so. It is 2.9m x 2.7m and apart from a lack of power to 2 spur lines is in very good order. I am not selling the buildings (that you can see in the photos) although 4 or 5 are attached and would come with it. I am also selling down some of my American locos and rollingstock on EBay.

03.01.2022 Track Welding is full steam ahead and will be completed within the coming weeks. As our model railway is considered an amusement device we have to ensure strict safety standards are met before we can open to the public. Our track is being reconstructed by a qualified welder who has been generously donating his time to complete the work. We can’t wait to get the trains back on the track soon!
