23.01.2022 MEET THE MAKERS Introducing Pete Cohen of Edge Gear Who are you?... I’m a husband, a father, & general adventure guy. I get the privilege of building community, developing individuals & integrating values. I get to do this with my family, with students & with some of the other finest leaders on the planet. I choose the context of adventure to carry out my work - cliffs, caves, mountains, bush, wilderness, rivers & oceans. I’m truly blessed. How did Edge Come about? I grew up in the beautiful South West of WA, my weekends were spent exploring caves, hiking, rock-climbing & camping. My love of creation & adventure grew to include sea-kayaking, white water rafting & canoeing & I have spent over 20 years working in the outdoor industry both as a practitioner & in outdoor-retail. We saw a need in the adventure retail industry for a shop that had current connection with the outdoors industry (both recreational & corporate), whilst holding an intimate understanding of the products. So we established Edge Gear and have been looking after mostly businesses & schools in the outdoor adventure space. Why the Co+Op? The Co+Op provides us the space to connect with people. We hope to inspire & connect people to creation through accessing quality outdoor adventure gear. Retail is changing and the Co+Op captures everything that you cannot get from shopping on-line. People connecting with people. Our range is focussed, people can see & try the products, get the right advice & size. Our primary range is quality products that you won’t find in many other storesthis sits in line with Fullers & the rest of the family here at the Co+Op. - #SUPPORTLOCAL #LOVEBUNBURY #THEFULLERCOOP See more

16.01.2022 Welcome back to the podcast. I am so excited to share this episode with you. I left this interview/fabulous chat with @lauramay_ from Nagnata feeling so incredi...bly inspired and personally learnt so much. Laura’s passion for building an authentic brand reminded me of the key ingredients to building a thriving business. In this episode, we touch on some of the incredible successes she has had with NAGNATAto date but also shares honestly and openly about the struggles that she’s encountered along the way including having her unique designs ripped off and sold as copies which she’s currently graciously fighting with her legal team. @nagnata_ recently took home the sustainability award, has presented their line to @theannawintour & is stocked globally in highly reputable stores. Laura is an incredibly inspiring, hardworking and passionate entrepreneur and it was an absolute honour getting to know her and the brilliant mind behind such a beautiful brand. Thank you for sharing your wisdom & congrats on @nagnata_ Laura May & team big things ahead for you I feel. This episode & story is an amazing example of what happens when a brand has a passionate founder at the helm, strong brand values and a clear purpose. There’s so much to learn from Laura’s story so I’ll leave you to the podcast to soak it all uplink below for iTunes and also available on Spotify https://podcasts.apple.com//startup-creative/id1243238109 #startupcreative

16.01.2022 Working on the second toile for a wedding gown. During the production of a bespoke item especially a wedding dress I may make particular parts of the garment up to three times to get the fit perfect. Fabric chosen is tested with various backing materials to support fit of garment. ... This is the slow process in search of perfection. #dressmaker #weddingdress #bespoke #losttrades #handmade #localbusiness

12.01.2022 Did you know that Australians send approximately 80% of their wardrobes to landfill every single year? And this sits alongside half a billion kilograms of texti...les that are dumped into landfill by Australians annually. Of this total number, 95% could have been reused or recycled! To put that into perspective that’s of textiles that should have had a second life When we learnt this we knew that something needed to change! 06.01.2022 MEET THE MAKERS! Introducing Patricia Dronow of Patricia St Designs - Dressmaking, Alterations, Pattern Making Who are you? A Donnybrook local, I love t...he total process of producing sewn products; from design, pattern development & trials to the end result. I’m a big reader too; I love learning more about the technical details & skills in order to master my craft. How did Patricia St Designs come about? I began with a humble apple & pear shaped door stopper which I sold at the Donnybrook markets. I thought it was a great way to represent the local area. Who would’ve thought I’d still be getting asked to make them 6 years on? From there, my designs have progressed from cotton fabrics to upholstery remnants; carefully creating one of a kind pieces. As a qualified dressmaker by trade, people were soon asking me if I could do alterations on one off pieces. The response has been fantastic, as there’s a real need in the market to repair, alter & even replicate peoples favourite garments! Why the Co+Op? I’ve joined the Co+Op to assist my good friend Anita at Green Being Eco Store , as well as to provide the service of my dressmaking and alterations to the local & wider community. The Co+Op gives me an opportunity to meet and connect with clients while supporting our growing collective of local businesses. - #supportlocal #lovebunbury #thefullercoop
