25.01.2022 '.....we’re living in the age of the sociopath. I don’t just mean that in the technical psychological sense of the word .... but first, in a deeper, truer, broader sense. Sociopathic: hostile to the idea, the notion, the purpose, of society. ' And we live in a world where many use the term 'socialist' hatefully. Is sociopath antinomic for socialist?
24.01.2022 Very interested in a true integrated Public Transport System, i.e. railway network; not just a radial commuter rail with Perth CBD as hub, but a true network. Immediately we need the Midlands Railway to be recommissioned for public transport to serve Swan Valley, Stratton, Ellenbrook, and on to Upper Swan, Bullsbrook and the new second Perth airport at Peace airbase, assuming RAAF has relocated to GinGin. This will require self powered railcars, probably hybrid H2/electric. ...These can share the common freight line. The WA Govt network shown here even in 2031 is still radial, with some extensions. There is still no rail to Ellenbrook, nor a perimeter loop around, say Fremantle-Cannington-Welshpool-Midland-Ellenbrook-Joondalup.
23.01.2022 Finally! Now they have to listen.
23.01.2022 Well designed refurbishment and development of a railway station and precinct 150 years old, in London. I wonder whether we could do anything like this in Perth? Does this ring any bells, Rita ? #rediscover.rail
20.01.2022 Not to mention, very expensive....
20.01.2022 Lovely party gig at Whiteman Park today; might have been 36 degrees elsewhere, but under the shady trees nestled near Mussel Pool, it was delicioulsy cool and the magpies joined in with the relaxed music. Thank you Annie and Kevin!
14.01.2022 Earlier this year CCWA revealed that Woodside’s giant Burrup Hub LNG development would produce over six billion tonnes of carbon pollution or around four times ...the pollution of the proposed Adani coal mine. This would make the Burrup Hub the most polluting fossil fuel project ever proposed in Australia. So, you can imagine how astonished CCWA were to find out that Woodside had secretly been granted approvals for unlimited gas processing and unlimited pollution by the WA Government, with no consultation and no assessment of the massive damage that would be done to our climate and environment. We believe these back-door approvals are unlawful, and some of WA’s top lawyers agree. Now we are going to the WA Supreme Court to challenge them and your urgent help is needed to support the case. Donate here to help halt Australia’s dirtiest fossil fuel project before it is too late. Here are just a few reasons why we cannot allow the Burrup Hub approvals to go ahead unchallenged: Development of giant new gas fields including Scarborough and Browse Basin off the Kimberley coast would be a disaster for our climate, releasing 6 billion tons of carbon pollution over the lifetime of the projects. Drilling over 50 oil and gas wells in and around the Scott Reef off the Kimberley coast will harm endangered marine life including whales and ancient sea turtles. Acid gas pollution will damage the world’s largest collection of rock art, proposed for World Heritage Listing on the Burrup Peninsula or Murujuga Gas from on-shore fields will be needed to feed the Burrup Hub and this could mean hundreds or thousands of fracking wells across the Kimberley and Midwest. Last month, the Burrup Hub was named as one of 12 global fossil fuel projects that would make it impossible to achieve the goals of the Paris Agreement. It is hard to believe this project is even being considered while the rest of the world shifts to renewable energy. But despite this, the WA Government has granted approvals for at the Burrup Hub in secret, with no assessments, no public consultation, and no disclosure of its environmental impacts. The approvals allow unlimited gas processing, and unlimited carbon pollution from two giant LNG export facilities on the Burrup Peninsula. We believe these approvals have broken the law, and now we urgently need your help to hold the WA Government and Woodside to account in the WA Supreme Court. See more
13.01.2022 Julia Gillard initiated the NBN to provide us all with 100Mbps, at an affordable rate. Abbot the great destroyer charged Turnbull with scuppering the NBN. We now have a laughable NBN service at about $1,000 pa. Plus we now have mobile services at similar rates as the only option since the real phone network was grafted into the NBN to render it ineffective. Duh !
12.01.2022 As Israel’s cabinet finalises their plans to illegally annex up to a third of the already-illegally occupied West Bank, it’s worth highlighting that the Australian government last week stood alone with the Marshall Islands in rejecting UN resolutions that recognised Palestinian self-determination and condemned the annexation. - makes you think, i think..... I hope.

01.01.2022 THE AFP HAVE ANOTHER JOURNALIST IN THEIR SIGHTS The ABC reports that the Australian Federal Police have asked prosecutors to consider charging journalist Dan Oakes for publishing classified information concerning possible war crimes in the Afghan Files, a 2017 series co-written with Sam Clark that exposed allegations Australian soldiers unlawfully killed 10 men and children. Almost a year to the day since the AFP’s Ultimo raid, the decision over whether or not to pursue charg...es now lies with the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions, although any prosecution would require approval from Attorney-General Christian Porter under a directive made in the wake of the ABC and News Corp raids. Oakes has since responded to the news on Twitter: Would just like to point out at this moment that whether or not we are ever charged or convicted over our stories, the most important thing is that those who broke our laws and the laws of armed conflict are held to account. Our nation should be better." PRIORITY CHECK: The news comes just a few months after the very independent AFP decided not to investigate or even interview Angus Taylor over the forged document scandal, in part because he said sorry. Christian Porter is Federal A-G and behind the persecution of witness K AND his solicitor, for revealing Oz spying on Timor Este for commercial gain. He is also the member for Pearce.
