15.01.2022 I cannot more highly recommend the book: Doughnut Economics by Kate Raworth. If our (i.e. global) politicians were to read this book, research the ideas it promulgates, and then actually begin to implement them, the world may just have an outside chance of surviving the human plague. But with them all still spruiking 'growth, growth, growth' I don't hold out much hope.

14.01.2022 The World and the Kitchen Sink Could the fate of Planet Earth be decided in the kitchen? Seems a bit fanciful, I grant, but if you reflect upon the communal kitchens you have had to use over the years at work, I think you’ll get where I’m coming from. I cannot imagine your experience of these places can be so different to my own. They're always in a mess! I cannot think of a corporate office in which I have worked where there hasn’t been a sign taped to a kitchen cabinet sayi...Continue reading

12.01.2022 Website technology, for me, is like a blind man stumbling around in a strange room, tripping over things, barking his shins, and unable to find anything he wants! Ah well, bloodied, bruised and hoarse from cursing, I have emerged with a new name for my website and a new link for the book, woo-hoo. http://patrickgilbertroberts.com.au/book/the-intervention/

07.01.2022 Most people who know me or have read previous posts on this page know I'm a goose when it comes to technology! I guess we can't all be good at everything (I'd be glad to be good at anything!). Now, in the back of my book, 'The Intervention' there is an invitation to subscribe to my mailing list and receive a free copy of 'A Hitchhiker's Guide to Kareedias', which is a handbook, or companion work to my next novel: 'Kareedias' I had been disappointed that absolutely no one had... downloaded the book, so I tried to do so myself. Didn't work! I finally managed to track down Ed, my tech guru, and he found the problem and fixed it. (Please be upstanding for Ed!) So, now, if you'd like a copy of A Hitchhiker's Guide to Kareedias, simply click on the link below and it should take you through the steps to get your free book. Honk, honk!

07.01.2022 I've just finished reading "The Visitor" by Tony Harmsworth. Despite a rather inauspicious first chapter it turned out a very good read. Sci-fi, first contact. I'd recommend it, particularly to those who, like me, have a rather dim view of the stupidity and rapacity of mankind and fear for the future of the planet.
