03.01.2022 Our Adelaide followers may have seen this image of Primo Ambling Alp Carnera and Stanly Killer Kowalski wrestling in the Boomer section of today’s Advertiser paper written by Bob Byrne from Adelaide Remember When. Primo was an Italian professional boxer and wrestler and was the boxing World Heavyweight Champion from 29 June 1933 to 14 June 1934, winning more fights by knockout than any other heavyweight champion in boxing history. When visiting Adelaide, he always made t...ime to visit his friend Giovanni Patritti. Legend has it he attracted what seemed like the whole Italian community of Adelaide to Patritti Wines, to celebrate with good wine, food and friends. His visits were memorable and are still talked about to this day with Primo making his mark on the Patritti story, his image is even featured on our Merchant Cabernet Sauvignon label. See more
