25.01.2022 Yikes we have been so slack with our posts of late but we have been super busy with life in general. We have dropped back to part time travel and our wicked weekenders since coming home and Covid. Most of you already know but we got ourselves some horses and piglets, a worm farm and we are in the process of setting up some vege and herb gardens! Now having a horse has opened up some cool opportunities and I discovered there is a bucket load of places that you can take your ...horse camping with you! How bloody fantastic is that! And wow we have found the perfect spot! Check out my next post to see where it is and all the important details! We hope everyone is staying safe, healthy and in good spirits during these trying times!

24.01.2022 This is an amazing spot to camp!!!

24.01.2022 We are off this weekend for some exploring! We will be hitting up some drives/tracks near Cracow, Theodore and Isla Gorge for a long weekend whoop whoop! Anyone else been up there, any recommendations?

24.01.2022 So we have been a completely slack with our posts and checking in. We have had some new projects going on and it's kept us busy!! So one of the new projects for us has been trying to find some awesome spots we could take the horses camping. Well I have found a beauty! And the owners are some awesome people who used to own a different property that alot of you have camped on before. Located 17 mins out of tenterfield on the same road as their old property wunglebung is Pinnac...le Park. And it's stunning, the views, the trails it's all just gorgeous. From the moment you enter the property it's seriously serene!! Katrina and Stu are amazing owners and great with horses. Katrina offers lessons, sessions and trail rides, now this lady is fabulous with horses and really knows her stuff. I have been taking my big Thoroughbred up there for training and she has worked wonders with him. You must be self sufficient though and there is plenty of places to set up camp!! #campingwithhorses #beautifultrails #horseridersofinstagram #campwithmyhorse #horsetraining #patrolinaus #floattraining #lovehorseriding #horsecrazy #pinnaclepark #stunningscenery #campingtenterfield #tenterfieldnsw #horseridingnsw #familyfun #girlslovehorses

22.01.2022 These are just some of the stunning and amazing sunsets from our Outback QLD Trip. Doesnt get much better than this. There is just something about a stunning sunset and that red dirt!! ... We will upload all our photos a full camp and destination list and costs over the weekend

22.01.2022 How awesome is this!!

21.01.2022 Happy Hump Day Everyone!! Well now that we are almost allowed back out and about we find ourselves meal prepping for our smaller booked trips and our wicked weekenders. We love our BBQs and Campfire Cooking and often pre-prepare our stews, curries and any other mixed dishes for the camp oven at home so all we have to do when we get there is empty it all into the camp oven and BAM ready to go. Our wicked Weekenders often see us taking LONG Shortcuts, unplanned turn-offs and ...arriving at random destinations therefore having a feed prepped ready to eat is perfect leaves more time to crack that coldie or enjoy a wine and relax! I have received a few messages of late asking what our must have cooking equipment is and what we use while traveling so for those interested we carry a Dream Pot Weber Baby Q Camp Oven & Portable Fire Pit we have a Gas stove in the camper and when we are in the swags with just the patrol we have a butane burner we take to boil just water or cook a one pan meal :) Whats everyones favourite go to camp feed or camp equipment.

15.01.2022 Last weekend we hit the road for another Wicked Weekender except this one was a self made long weekend. We left Thursday afternoon, headed for Cracow, QLD the ghost town known for its Gold Mining. Apparently the hotel has a ghost and visitors have spotted her Clad in her nightgown, the woman resides in Room 1, often venturing out in the wee hours to wander the stairs and corridors. ... We didnt see any ghosts this trip. We stayed in the Donation camp across from the Cracow Hotel called George Hamilton Park. There was flushing toilets, picnic tables and grass for our swags. We arrived late Thursday night, rolled out the swags, then the next morning packed up and went exploring at Cracow Beach, Dawson River and Isla Gorge!! There is a historical bridge tourist drive just 15 mins out of cracow. There is some amazing history in the banana shire and so much to offer we loved it up there and are looking forward to going back. Next we explore Isla Gorge National Park keep an eye out for that post!! Definitely some beautiful country right there!! #crawcowhotel #sandstonewonders #patrolinaus #cracowbeach #historicalbridges #ghosttown #goldminingtown #bananashire #exploreoutbackqld #dawsonriver #discoverqld #lappinaus #wickedweekender #familytime #hadagreattime

11.01.2022 Adavale, Outback QLD This almost deserted country town has a population of approx 16 people and they offer a pretty Epic donation/free camp with Hot Showers, Flushing Toilets, BBQ and a picnic table and chairs. For a small town theres a lot of history there and its the perfect spot to set up camp and day trip into Hell Hole Gorge!... There is a small country pub/store in town but its currently closed There is no fuel in Adavale at all so be sure to fuel up in Charleville or Quilpie before heading up. We took 2 x Jerry Cans of fuel in just in case! We loved our stay in this remote town and there is so many roads in and out to explore. We will be back #AdavaleQLD #patrolinaus #outbackqld #quilpieshire #explorequilpie #outbackqueensland #visitquilpieshire #quilpietourism #familyadventures #4x4explore #backroadsandbulldust #epicadventures #austrackcampers #savannahx

10.01.2022 In the last few weeks, I have received an influx of messages about traveling Australia in a camper trailer. It seems with a large amount of focus on traveling families and their setups a large number of people are under the impression they need the 100K Tow vehicle and the 70K caravan to be able to do their lap. We are here to tell you that this is not the case. There are several families traveling that have done it with a budget set up or their already existing setups. I will share a few of those with you later on. This is the first part of our Australia in a Camper Trailer series. The 2nd part will be out in the next few days.

09.01.2022 Never get sick of watching this legends work! Such amazing talent!! I Never fail to cringe at the bare feet though Nathan Whippy Griggs

09.01.2022 Yowah, Outback QLD Fondly named "The friendly opal Field" is well known for being the home of the yowah nut and the Ironstone Matrix Opal only found in this part of QLD. Our number one mission for here was to capture the sunset on the bluff. Id heard so many stories of how truly stunning it is and they werent wrong. ... We set up our nibbles and drinks and watched as the skies filled with so many breath taking colours it was almost as stunning as a pilbara sunset. We also enjoyed the artesian spas the main one was super hot (my fav). The opal fossicking is fun and great priced. And grab yourself a delicious cuppa from The Blue Wren Cafe. #patrolinaus #yowah #outbackqueensland #discoverqueensland #apieceoftheoutback #adventures2020 #familytime #makingmemories2020 #countrytownsofaustralia #Naturalsciencesloop #opalfossicking #artesianborebaths #yowahnut

07.01.2022 Ok so everyone knows we have a love for supporting drought stricken farmers and small towns and we also have a love for quirky and this place fits that bill. We are heading out to Gidgee Smith Bags & Gidgees Bush Camp In just under 2 weeks and we cant wait. If your looking for quirky, kind, and no crowds this places is it!! Located in Morven, Queensland you can incorporate it into your Natural Sciences Loop. We are heading of to cover this loop in 10 days super exciting!!

07.01.2022 Absolutely this

07.01.2022 Thargomindah Outback QLD What an awesome Gem of a place this was. From the moment we drove into town we were in love. The people, The places, The community everyone was welcoming and helpful. ... There was some great walks and tourist attractions and plenty of day trips to do from there. We met surly Shirley from the pub. Its a song check it out. She was so friendly and her food my god it was bloody delicious so much so we went back TWICE lol. We did the river walk, the interactive displays at the old jail and old hospital we checked out the post office, the hydro display which was fantastic. We enjoyed afternoon tea at the park and a spot of fishing at Pelican Point before heading out to make Bindegolly to check out the bird life and waterways. We stayed at the Explorers Caravan Park what a mint spot to set up camp. Amenities were pristine, the grounds grassy and well kept and the staff were awesome. Dogga the manager was a great source of info as were the ladies in the tourist info centre. My heart broke with the regalling of the people and children that died in the heat wave. This little town sure has a bucket load of history.
