09.02.2022 Did this about 45 years ago. Might take painting in oils up again one day. Will be hard coz I love my charcoal.

07.02.2022 Think I fixed can in bottom right corner. Looks a bit better I think. Not so stark.

23.01.2022 Just finished. A commission for my daughter's future mother in law. Her dad. Pretty happy with it.

23.01.2022 Just an update. Coming on. Another week I think. Commission work.

19.01.2022 I joined a portrait art page a few days ago and just thought I'd ask, what I thought, was a rather innocuous question wondering whether other artists grid their work or just sight measure. WELL..... I received over 160 responses with quite a few responding with yes they did. But also quite a few telling me to discard that method as it was hampering my becoming a TRUE artist with a couple even saying the method was for children. There were a lot that gave me some helpful ...tips which I may endeavour to use in the future but as I'm happy with most of my results I think I'll continue on with this method. Boy, did I open a can of worms. Lol. See more

18.01.2022 OK. Be kind peoples. Titled 'Empty'. 40 x 56 cm Had finished last commission so just wanted to do something a bit different. It certainly is that.

18.01.2022 I was just wondering if any of my friends could write a small review on my Pats Portraits page ( even if its only ! word ), otherwise it won't be listed as a page people can view. Would be very much appreciated. PS. I can't put up any pics till after Xmas though I am still busy drawing. There will be a plethora of posts then. PPS. There's a review button on the left hand side of my page.

14.01.2022 So about half way. Might be happy to see the end of this one. 56 x 40cm

13.01.2022 After an extended break I'm back into it. Long way from finished but happy with it so far. For my future son in laws mum. Her dad from a pic from the 80's.

11.01.2022 Done for a dear, dear friend for her 60th Birthday. Leonie Jayne Nanotti.

10.01.2022 This is Maysie. Last one for this year though I haven't done many at all. She was a test case as I haven't tried to do animals before. Quite happy with result though doing fur is a bugger. Might try a Mexican hairless.

09.01.2022 Apologies to all those who commented or liked my previous post of this pic which has been deleted. I wasn't completely happy with the result so worked on it for another 20 odd hours and am happier with this final result. Hope you like it. Done for a merchant in the Adelaide Produce Markets and is of his mum and dad. In the early 60s I think in either Rome or some other city in Italy. Cheers.

06.01.2022 Haven't done a car for about 20 years. Hope it turns out. Will be lots of reflections in the bodywork, windows etc. Challenging.

05.01.2022 Finished. Now just to get framed.

05.01.2022 Two pics I can now put up on my page as they were given as presents on Xmas Day. Thank you @MoniqueandAndy Camac for the commissions.

04.01.2022 Well. For the 1st time in about 3 1/2 years I have no commissions to work on. The last two are in at the framers now. Was a bit lost and a bit relieved at the same time. Time for something different. Let's see how I go. Wish me luck. :-)

02.01.2022 I must admit I like the way this came up after it was framed. Very happy.

02.01.2022 Just a big shout out to everyone who supported my page through 2019. Not an overly productive year for one reason or another but feeling positive about 2020. At midnight I lifted my left leg in the air so I start this year on the right foot. Happy New Year everyone. Hope it's a good one.... See more
