Didn’t get the results we wanted but good sportsmanship shown by all and great support given to all players as there was never a spare seat on a bench when one of us was playing. Special shout out to Hayley Gould and Bradley Petrak for reaching semi finals of their consolation singles draws and Calum Bennett for reaching last round of main draw qualifying. Cheers to Grove Bennett for organising the trip and the Warrnambool tournament for putting on a great show.

19.01.2022 Hello Tennis Family Tennis Australia and many sporting associations have postponed seasons and matches as per government health regulations. These affect events and gatherings of people that exceed 500 people or more. It additionally affects teams that have air fare and travel requirements in order to play sanctioned events. Our club and academy will NOT exceed the 500+ gathering restriction and therefore will continue to operate as per normal conditions. ... The club and the academy have taken the recommended precautions and sanitised door handles and have acquired addition sanitizer for members to use. So take care, wash your hands and avoid large crowds. We will have hand sanitizer on court for our players to use. We will keep everyone posted as to the TA member associations decisions to play matches including the postponed Junior PTA semi finals and the BRTA grand finals. We know that BRTA would prefer to play them at a later date rather than award winners. We are seeking clarification from PTA as to their direction. Not all associations have halted play. We know that Waverley and Eastern District Tennis Association are still playing but have asked to restrict gatherings to essential players and officials and must stay under 500 people at all times. We will stay on top of any advancements and or potential changes to this as we receive any new news. If you have any additional concerns please few free to call 0488 428 808

17.01.2022 5 May, 2020 Tennis set to resume at Patterson Lakes Tennis Club & Boomers Tennis Academy Tennis clubs and centres across Victoria are set to reopen based on Tennis Victoria’s Return to Tennis Guidelines. The guidelines provide details on how tennis can operate within Federal and State restrictions updated on 11 May 2020. ... On 11 May, the Victorian State Government announced it will gradually ease restrictions while under a State of Emergency from Tuesday 12 May at 11:59pm. As a result, tennis can return in a limited way. What does this mean for tennis in Victoria? Gatherings of no more than 10 o Singles or doubles o Small group coaching. All activities must be on outdoor courts. Clubhouses/rooms to remain closed. Association Competition is not permitted. Tennis provides great opportunities to be active in an environment that can enable social distancing rules to be observed. By following Tennis Victoria’s Return to Tennis Guidelines, Patterson Lakes Tennis Club and Boomers Tennis Academy is able to provide playing opportunities to our community to help boost both physical health and mental wellbeing. Tennis Victoria Chief Executive Officer Ruth Holdaway MBE said, We are excited to see coaches and players returning to the courts across Victoria. The tennis community has been extremely patient and understanding through this difficult time and we want to thank everyone who had to close their courts and businesses for helping manage this public health crisis. Tennis Victoria’s Return to Tennis Guidelines and Toolkit will support clubs and coaches to now reopen on a limited basis whilst observing social distancing and hygiene protocols which remain a priority for the safety of the community. Tennis Victoria will continue to work with clubs, coaches and Government to ensure people can play tennis safely as we work through a phased return to play. People looking to return to the court are encouraged to contact Grove Bennett by phone on 0488 428 808 or via email at [email protected] Patterson Lakes Tennis Club Boomers Tennis Academy

17.01.2022 WELCOME BACK TO TENNIS... Seniors Tennis Training and BBQ. It was a great day of tennis for our senior tennis teams who participated in a return to tennis trai...ning day. With players representing teams across 8 sections and a legends team consisting of life members in their first Saturday tennis day in over 3 months it was fantastic to see so many smiling faces return to the courts. Special thank you to chef Michael Juste for doing a stellar job on the BBQ with meat donated by Nick Higgins and Grove Bennett. However, it’s safe to say that we were made to look good because of the support from Dianne and Yvonne for a preparing the food and drinks and keeping everyone fed and watered. With the sun shining on us making it a great day of play from sunrise to sunset. Thank you to everyone for coming out and making it a fantastic day. And Huge mention and appreciation to club Legend and Life Member Graham (G2) Storey, for making a special trip out to see the days action. We miss you G2. 10.01.2022 Tennis COVID-Update Tennis is an outdoor non contact activity that is still good for physical and Mental Health and one of the best ways to stay active and heal...thy during these difficult time’s. Our coaches are remaining diligent in cleanliness and hygiene and have already implemented no more than 4 players per court ruling and removed coaching aides and ask that all players bring their own water bottles. It is important that we all do our best to avoid large group gatherings and remain pro active in observing the social distancing regulations as this is our best way of contributing in a positive manner to reducing the spread. We hope that everyone stays safe and with sometime, patience and support we remain healthy and active through this. Sports including tennis are fun and good for many reasons but nothing is more important than life itself and we would love to see all our members, players and tennis family remain safe. So please be diligent and keep good distances and you can still enjoy some tennis activities. Boomers

05.01.2022 Boomers Cup - Round 3 9th October 2019

05.01.2022 Boomers coach Grove Bennett, Coaching the Bayside Regional Tennis Association (BRTA) and the Moorabin Districts Tennis Association (MDTA) 12under Teams in the Alicia Molik Cup at Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club this weekend. Congratulations to all the players in competing in the Alicia Molik Cup this weekend. Eirne Nimorauiotauis, Savannah James, Mausim Jezdic and Mateo Munoz were placed in the pool of death having to play against Central Highlands, Goulburn and Barwon Heads all ...on day one. After going 3-0 and undead after the first day, the team had their toughest match up of the weekend against Nothern Suburbs. It was a match up with two undefeated teams to see who would advance to the A pool finals. After some amazing shots, with both teams displaying great tennis, sportsmanship and comradeship the Bayside team fell just short and moved on to the B pool finals. Bayside took out Berwick in the semi finals to advance to the Grand Finals against close neighbours and fiends from the Moorabin and Districts team. (Still playing as I type). The parents were on hand over the two days and provided much needed support, encouragement and some great entertainment and laughter. Such a good time. Kooyong and the Kooyong Foundation did a great job hosting the event as usual and the weather could not have been any better. It was a privilege to be on site to help all the players and parents and of course the Bayside Regional and Moorabin and Districts Tennis Association. It was a lot of fun and enjoyable to be involved with so many wonderful players and parents. Well done to everyone for a fantastic weekend. Regards Grove Bennett Boomers Sent from my iPhone please excuse spelling or grammar errors.
