23.01.2022 With the Fire Danger Period fast approaching, our Brigade will commence face to face training over the next few weeks (under strict guidelines approved by the Chief Health Officer) to complete our pre-summer skills maintenance drills The entrapment, or burn over, drill is part of CFA’s required training and is mandatory for all firefighters before they can respond to bushfires during summer, due to the fact that sudden changes in fire intensity and direction can be life-threatening to firefighters. Practicing how to move to the truck and use it for shelter is critical for the safety of crew. Our firefighters are excited to get back into the swing of practical training, and being prepared to help in times of need

19.01.2022 We ask all of our followers to Please share. Our Brigade has a family connection to Malcom and like his family are very concerned for his well-being. Our members have also been involved in the search along with SES and Victoria Police. Malcom Bohmeyer is still missing! His family are reaching out to anyone within the Langwarrin, Frankston and surrounding suburbs to please continue to keep an eye out for 71 year old Malcom who was last seen 5 weeks ago, on Wednesday the 12th ...August riding his bike in and around the Langwarrin Flora and Fauna Reserve. He left his home on Cranbourne Road at approx 1.30pm, the last cctv footage of Malcom was at the rear of Burdetts Landscaping on Mclelland Rd, Langwarrin at 2.07pm, from there it seems he may have crossed the footbridge to get onto the Peninsula Link Trail, but that is where we lose any further sightings/information of Malcoms whereabouts. Malcom suffers from Parkinson’s disease and would be completely disoriented without his medication. He was on a blue and black mountain bike with a distinctive black basket on the front which has also have not been located. He was wearing grey tracksuit pants, a black long sleeve T-shirt, and a blue bike helmet. If anyone comes across Malcom or his bike, or has any information however big or small, you are urged to please contact Frankston Police Station or Crimestoppers.

09.01.2022 It has been one year today since the start of the devastating bushfires that ravaged Victorian communities for most of Summer. On 21 November, 2019 the first ‘code red’ fire danger rating in almost a decade was declared in the Mallee and Northern Country, while dry lightning strikes in East Gippsland started three fires which grew to a widespread bushfire disaster that burned for months. Today we, with our CFA comrades, reflect on the devastation and challenges that followed ...21 November and the incredible support from all emergency services who came together to aid the communities impacted by the unprecedented fire season. We are proud of our members who took time away from their families, their workplaces, and their community, to assist their fellow Victorians in some of their darkest times.

Tonight, half our team headed down to the National Water Sports Centre in Bangholme to polish our draughting techniques, just in case there’s no hydrants near our fire. The other half of our team studied Bushfire Development. Including, fire behaviour and identifying different fuel loading, weather patterns, and how to deal with different dangers. The members at Patterson River Fire Brigade are working hard to make sure we can help keep our community safe over summer.
