16.01.2022 This unbelievably extensive fire threat across our country could realistically continue for many weeks to come. So many impacted by this catastrophe. The amazing support, messages and thoughts from friends and family, give strength, inspiration and motivation. We are grateful for the spirit of our incredible community of SE NSW. Thankyou to the guardian angels at NSW Ambulance that have assisted in rendering help to firefighters and victims. ... Thankyou to the partners, children, friends, and families of all firefighters that had to say farewell with fear and pride to a loved one and hold down the fort whilst they were gone. Thankyou to the many every day heroes that have pushed for donations for victims and donated time, equipment or money to assist those in need Thankyou to the people from all over the world that have come to help from NZ, Canada, USA & more. Thankyou to our incredible Commissioner Shane Fitzsimmons and his team who has gone above and beyond in doing everything possible to keep everyone informed and safe and showed true leadership. Thankyou to the behind the scenes people who update apps, warnings and Facebook pages who have worked tirelessly to keep information coming in times of need. Our friends, family, neighbours and communities reeling from the horrific events of recent days, together we will bounce back even stronger in 2020. We will rebuild. I’m in awe of the incredible RFS across our country, who risk their lives to keep us safe...and who are selflessly working again today, tomorrow and in days to come. This is what makes our country beautiful. They are my heroes. Be kind to one another. Stay safe everyone.
