24.01.2022 Self portrait - scanography style! So instead of my camera, I took this with the bed of my scanner. I must have looked absolutely insane mushing my face on my scanner over and over just to see how certain things would turn out.

21.01.2022 I often hear "oh, you're a photographer. You must have so many amazing photos of your children." But honestly, I really don't. I take photos on my phone, like everybody else. However, this photo is an exception. This is the first time I have ever taken any sort of "formal" shots of my kids and I regret not doing it sooner. 20.01.2022 I had no idea what to expect when meeting Alex and his family to be completely honest. I was told before our family portrait session that he has autism and may not look at the camera naturally. His mother Trish asked if I was up for the challenge and I was. I was excited! I’ve never attempted to take photos of the moon before, so this was a massive learning experience for me and how I manipulate my camera

15.01.2022 I wanted to recreate a photo I took of myself way back in 2010. I'm talking about the black and white, out of focus, monstrosity of a photo below When I first took that photo, back when I was 16, I thought I was so clever and so creative! I look at it now and just cringe but I'm glad I have it, so I can look back and see how far I've come creatively over the last 8 years. And who knows, I may look back at my 'recreation' and cringe as well. But for now, I'm stoked to see how far I've come and am excited to see how far I will go from here!

14.01.2022 "Why do you only post birth photos in black and white on social media?" A client asked me this a few days ago when discussing her birth session. The simple answer is, on social media we get so distracted. We are quick to keep scrolling on to see the next thing and the one after that and not really seeing. By removing the colour from a photo you have to search the image and almost breathe it in. That's where you find the heart and soul of a photo. You are seeing what the phot...ographer wants you to see. If this photo was in colour the first thing you would notice is the neon pink and blue of the mother's pants. 14.01.2022 Four whole days it took for lovely little Zoe to enter this world and even though her parents were exhausted they still exploded with love for their baby girl. Through photographing Kristie’s birth story, I learned pretty damn quickly how treasured and wanted Zoe was. She was conceived through IVF, a terribly hard process for both Kristie and Michael to endure, a journey most of us would never understand. But even miracles take a little time.

10.01.2022 Photographing a birth is completely different to any other style of portrait sessions I've done. You get one chance to get it right. There are no do-overs with labor or birth. I can't get people to pose or smile on cue and I'm almost always working in terrible lighting conditions. But that's what makes it so amazing. As a photographer, I'm included in a once in a lifetime event, the birth of your baby. 07.01.2022 Being a part of something as incredible a birth is so humbling for me and I love every second of it. No matter how many I am a part of, I always cry the second the baby does. These images were all taken within the first hour after birth; each with a different story as to how they entered this crazy world.

03.01.2022 In honour of Mother’s Day, I want to share this beautiful family’s portrait session. Our time together was a gift for Liz - an incredible mother, grandmother and just all round super woman! Exactly like the other women in her family, who love their children so fiercely; you can see it in the way they look at their children! I capture so many different stages of motherhood, from pregnancy and birth, to young families and families with grown children. It is so amazing for me to see mothers, love on their children for a living, it gives me all the warm and fuzzies!
