21.01.2022 A big shout out to the team behind Hike to Heal at Mt Peel, being held in February - a wonderful initiative to raise awareness and funds for mental health services. Go to their facebook page Hike to Heal for more details on how to get involved.
21.01.2022 I was very happy to be the winner of the 2020 Clifton Courier Footy Tipping competition, receiving the winning cheque from Ted Rogers last week. I was equally happy to present that cheque to Wattles RLFC Club President Amanda O'Halloran as a donation! Thanks very much to Clifton Courier for these pictures.
20.01.2022 Yesterday, 23 September was the annual Dogs in Politics Day and to celebrate (a little late!) I would like to share a photo of myself with Percy, a friends' best mate. Dogs make a huge difference in our lives as companions and co-workers and we should all take a moment to appreciate them!
19.01.2022 I’ve noticed recent community conversation regarding law and order in the Condamine electorate. It is no secret under this Palaszczuk Government crime has spiraled out of control. Our police stations are understaffed and under resourced. ... The LNP has committed to growing police numbers in line with population growth but more importantly we will provide the laws our hard working police need - tougher laws for domestic violence, tougher laws for gun crime, tougher laws for sex offenders, tougher laws for recidivist youth crime and tougher laws to crack down on organised crime gangs that peddle drugs to our kids. I will continue my ongoing campaign to bring a second police vehicle to Oakey. The LNP will legislate to make breach of bail for juveniles an offence again and fix section 48 of the Youth Justice Act 1992 better known as Labor’s ‘catch and release’ laws. The LNP will put the brakes on Queensland’s hooning problem with new cameras, new laws and new technology which will literally shred the tyres of dangerous drivers. A future Deb Frecklington LNP Government has tough anti-trespass laws that will protect agricultural workers and resource jobs from extremists who want to sabotage lawful resource businesses operating and employing locals. Queensland drivers with an unblemished record behind the wheel will be rewarded for their safe driving, with the release of a new 10-year gold driving licence. https://www.lnp.org.au/full-plan/
15.01.2022 Not a very good start for the new Resources Minister who was unable to answer my first Question Without Notice in Parliament.
14.01.2022 Australia Day celebrations will take place across the region - here is a handy guide to where and when, but more details are available on the TRC website, search the Events calendar!
14.01.2022 The LNP is determined to see New Acland Stage 3 approved, creating hundreds of secure, local jobs in the Darling Downs region. We know Labor is anti-resources..., anti-regions and anti-jobs and the Palaszczuk Labor Government is the only thing standing in the way of these jobs. This project would be approved as a priority by an LNP Government. The LNP would also establish a faster approvals process, with key performance indicators tracked and published to restore industry confidence. It means secure jobs, better local businesses, and a stronger Queensland economy. Pat Weir MP

11.01.2022 The Premier has serious questions to answer in the wake of the Governments'' announcement relating to Olive Downs coal mine in Central Queensland yesterday. She has repeatedly refused to sign off on the important Acland Stage 3 expansion, because there were still issues "before the courts" - now the Courier Mail reveals that the Olive Downs project is also still subject to review before the Supreme Court. We'd like an explanation please Premier..

09.01.2022 This week is National Men's Shed Week! Preventing social isolation, developing friendships and keeping the mind active has never been more important. Men's and Women's Sheds are a pivotal part of the community.

08.01.2022 Very saddened to hear of the passing of former Deputy Prime Minister The Right Honourable Doug Anthony AC, CH.
07.01.2022 As always it was a great pleasure to visit DownsSteam Tourist Railway & Museum today. DownsSteam volunteers invited me to view the new curtains and soft furnishings to improve Dining Cart 1 and 2, made possible by a $500 donation which I was very happy to make earlier this year. DownsSteam is a wonderful local tourist facility which I am proud to support. Pictured here are Ros Scotney and Robert Ketton (both DownsSteam); and Cr James O'Shea TRC, Ros Scotney, Robert Ketton and Graham Biggs, DownsSteam.
06.01.2022 A shout out this morning to Ramsay State School and their amazing P and C, after treasurer Anne Ahern was named as one of four national winners for CBA’s Not-for-Profit Treasurers’ Awards. Anne was instrumental in finding effective new ways to fundraise for the school during this year of Covid-19. The committee has raised enough this year to help fund a teacher’s salary to ensure Ramsay can have three full-time educators on staff. Whenever I visit Ramsay SS I am impressed by the attitude and commitment on display, and this achievement just proves how successful that has been for them.
06.01.2022 Only the LNP has a plan to create a decade of secure jobs, drag Queensland out of recession and get Queensland working again.
06.01.2022 Queensland Senator Gerard Rennick visited Condamine today to view the proposed inland rail routes running through this area. We are pictured below with locals Haylee Ziesemer and her father, Wayne; John Cameron; Graham Butler; and Meg Kummerow, and also with Jan La Frenz.
06.01.2022 Congratulations today to the Grade 12 students graduating across Condamine - my best wishes go out to you all after what has been an incredibly challenging final year. Good luck as you move on from your school years!

05.01.2022 Following the announcement by John McVeigh MP that he will be resigning from the seat of Groom I would like to pay tribute to his years of service. I have had the honour and pleasure of working with John as both a State and Federal member and he will be missed. I wish John and Anita all the best for the years ahead, enjoying their family together!
05.01.2022 It was a great pleasure to host the Leader of the Opposition Deb Frecklington on some site visits around the Oakey area, showing support for Acland where jobs will be lost if approval for Stage 3 is not granted, and also at Black Toyota and Martins Haulage.
04.01.2022 So sorry to hear of the untimely passing of Dean Jones - as a keen cricketer I recall watching him at the Gabba on a number of occasions. Taken far too soon, he will be missed by all Australians.
