04.01.2022 The pitfalls of buying cheap plumbing products and a budget price renovation. Lovely looking back to wall suite brand I've never heard of, made in PRC, client tells me its been leaking on the floor since install. Also shower screen leaks and floor falls wrong way. Installer used cement to set pan, and I use gyprock saw to free suite, OMG has he heard about silicone, yes he has! Its on the rubber outlet seal, idiot. No shut off valve at cistern, gently lay towels on floor, gla...ss tiles, lift whole suite with other plumber, notice leaks at close coupling of cistern and pan, installer over tightened and crushed seals. Cannot get parts any more, not available. Problem this is only toilet in house, getting late in afternoon. Give client choice, $1000 plus install for new Caroma suite, or carry on with repair. See what you save at the start, kicks you in the Butt at the end, seems we repaired it, it cost him. The stress is not worth it See more
