23.01.2022 Taff spotted this glorious brown cruising in a small Monaro stream and caught it masterfully on a tiny dry fly and released it to live and spawn another time. Very rewarding to see such a splendid creature in its wild environs. it pulled the scales to about 4 3/4 lbs!!

10.01.2022 How good is it to be back into the trout season 2017 and getting some lovely Monaro browns on tiny dry royal coachmen....Thanks to Jamie Taff and Ian for their brilliant company that rounded off a truly memorable weekend

09.01.2022 Hi special friends in fly fishing. Boy do we need some rain here in The Southern Highlands of NSW. Dams are dropping and the creeks look pretty thin. There are still some trout and lots of redfin to be caught....even those bulldozer feral carp have been getting our attention and stripping us to the backing! I hear the Monaro is fishing very well and the Snowy Lakes are OK as well. My cousin Bruce says the fishing in Lake Wendouree in Ballarat Victoria has been on and off bu...t some superb mudeye feeders have been caught by himself and other clever locals after dark....very exciting. I've had a big year fishing fresh and saltwater thanks to my friends who insist on taking me fishing! Have a great Christmas and lets hope 2019 brings us all health happiness prosperity and most importantly some decent rain for our beloved lakes and streams !! In my shed I have a sign that says "Fly fishing is not a matter of life and Death...it's much more important than that" !! Bring on the rain Santa !! ... for our fisheries and our friends on the land. Cheers Paulo See more

08.01.2022 With the End of Season fast approaching with trout rivers closed for all forms of fishing after the Long Weekend.... it will be time to put your feet up and read a good book on fly fishing to help fill those long evenings as we wait patiently for the Opening of the Season again on the long weekend in October. Mind you lakes are open all year.... and Secret Creek has a few tips for fly fishing in lakes and polaroiding big brown trout as they move back into the lakes to recover from their spawn run up the rivers in the glorious Snowy Mountains. Also some tips on buzzer fishing which is a deadly technique at just about any time of the year. Cheers Paul
