25.01.2022 Been playing in the studio. Looking forward to some serious painting fun after my shoulder is fixed. For now though, playing with friends will have to do.
25.01.2022 New ideas. Inspiration from wonderful Ella's classes and love for line work. I am happy now this one has a background. I must experiment with more backgroung ideas on pours.
23.01.2022 And because I hate wasting paint, I created these 2 smaller pieces. New colour palette coming soon.
23.01.2022 A special gift for my most special friend. This is "Aunty "Magpie" " A4 on watercolour paper in ink.
21.01.2022 I finished another commission a while ago for a lovely lady in Queensland. And today "Melissa" was sent off in the post to meet her namesake. I hope they enjoy each other.
20.01.2022 Caribbean Dream. More alcohol ink on yupo paper, different techniques and different effects.
20.01.2022 Some details of a small piece from last week..the colours are wonderful in this, i just need to take clearer photos. But it is very rich, and much more work to put up soon.
19.01.2022 I am happy to have sold this to a very good friend. The colours worked perfectly for his love of the West Coast Eagles. Perhaps I should call it "Flying high". Acrylic on canvas. 20x20in.
18.01.2022 I have been doing a few different projects while isolated from the world. This is the first painting I have done in quite some time. Baby steps to getting back into the swing of things.
17.01.2022 I have started on a new project of 2 pieces. Here are some progress shots of piece 1....Peacock. the next one will be 2....Phoenix. Will post more as I go along. I hope you like them.
17.01.2022 I have been a little quiet lately. I am still creating like a mad woman...goes with the territory, but some things take longer than others to finish or to be photogenic. So here's a little thought for you all, to let you know that I will have more to show soon.....because Vincent......we all are.
16.01.2022 I have been working on a few new things lately. I am also re-visiting my love of fashion design and creation. This weekend though, in a quiet moment, I decided to produce something that I can teach people to make to celebrate the '20s. Let's bring Art Deco back with a vengeance!!!
16.01.2022 Some progress shots from my new stormy piece. May become a series. Not sure, but loving the depth. Stay tuned.
16.01.2022 This is a bit of a departure from my usual colour palette. I am enjoying the softness and the hard edges. And the gold ...always the gold.
16.01.2022 Have branched out a little with my resin work lately . Had great fun this weekend at @costudiowa with one of my fellow artists. We made resin bowls and to me they are glorious.
14.01.2022 I have been busy sewing as you know. This latest post is a kimono I have just completed for my lovely Ella. This is an original design, featuring burn out chiffon velvet, brocade and crushed satin. It also has a contrast vent insert in the back seam. This is one of the kimono in my lounge/evening/wedding kimono range. They are available to be made to order. Please DM me for any enquiries. I hope you enjoy it.
13.01.2022 My latest alcohol ink creation. Oh how I love blues and greens. I'm pretty sure everyone can guess its title. Peacock. Alcohol ink on Yupo Paper A3.
13.01.2022 A work in progress in these awful times. So pertinent to Australia at the moment, but ultimately worldwide. This is oil on canvas. I paint while I wait for more bushfire alerts, being so close the sound of helicopters and the smell of smoke reminds me once again, that we have one planet, and we must look after it.
13.01.2022 Full Blown Rose. A3 alcohol ink on yupo paper. I have been loving the new techniques and all its wonderful variables
12.01.2022 Well I finally got to hack off the stupid fake nails. And so I have started being creative again. I am working on a number of commission at the moment, but had a little time today to just have fun. This is one of my favourite new pieces. "Wanderlust " Acrylic on canvas. 60x90cm
12.01.2022 When Perth has a run of 40 degrees Celsius days, what do you do? You go to the cricket. When the first of 3 days knocks you out from the heat??? Send your husband on his own and stay at home dreaming of cool ocean waters and golden sands.
10.01.2022 This is one of my new projects. I am doing a series of dark and light complimentary pieces in various colour palettes. The swirls and different concentrations of colour in these fascinate me.
09.01.2022 I had a whole day to myself in the studio. After finishing many pieces with a coat of resin, I decided to have a little play with a different colour palette in alcohol inks. This is "Rising From The Ashes". Alcohol ink on yupo paper. A4
08.01.2022 So this is a commission for a lovely lady I met on Facebook. And thus I have titled it Melissa. I hope she will love it in her home.
08.01.2022 Well, I finished. One day oil painting must be a record for me. I am quite happy with it, but it is such a shame that the inspiration for it has crippled the country. I was unable to leave the house today because of bushfire nearby, so this is my silent contribution to today's more vocal stances on climate change.
08.01.2022 There will soon be a full shot of this piece, hopefully without reflective flash, but for now I just think the colours and movement are delicious. "Flame Dancing "
08.01.2022 Some works in progress. Coasters and plattermats available as sets or separately. Look for them on my website soon or dm me for details. And more large pieces coming soon.
06.01.2022 Another day with fake nails means another day without art. So I decided to show some older pieces for the next couple of days. This one I thought I hated. It has grown on me. "Excuse me while I kiss the sky..."
05.01.2022 This kimono in my lounge/evening/ bridal range features a dobby chiffon, and contrasts of sateen and subtly patterned satin. The back seam has a self fabric vent for extra drama. As with all my work, I can make to order and will take any enquiries as to fabric and price by DM. This is a favourite of mine....Please enjoy
04.01.2022 Such a shame about the reflection. I really need to take better photos. But...love these. The light and the dark, nebulous and oh so deep. Acrylic on Canvas with resin. 24x24 inch square. (Each..haha) Zoom in to see worlds within.
04.01.2022 I took a break from my current sewing marathon. Today was my wonderful husband's birthday, so I have done my first detailed pencil work in a long time. This style of Art is both frustrating and therapeutic. I am happy to say he likes it.
04.01.2022 Soft blissful blue. I love the waves around the edges. Alcohol ink again. Easier than oil painting when you can't move your arms.
04.01.2022 I haven't been able to do much art lately. Getting ready for lovely daughter's wedding. And fake nails do not play well with paint, and ruin dexterity. But this is little piece done in alcohol ink, and copper leaf.
02.01.2022 During the time in which I have been isolated from the world, I have rekindled my romance with sewing. This coat is a fully reversible, oversized coat. Made from beautifully patterned wool, and lined in an ornate satin, with satin thread contrast topstitching to cuffs and pockets. It reminds me of a cocoon coat from the 1920s.
01.01.2022 Loving these colours. This piece is not quite finished, but I am pretty happy with the progress so far.
