02.01.2022 Back out at Humpback Highway - no breaching but plenty of tail action. These guys depend on Krill as their food source. Apparently the supply of krill is diminishing rapidly which means this vital food supply for them is threatening the population (again). Hunted and decimated due to commercial whaling at the turn of the 20th century, these magnificent beasts now face another threat. They managed to recover to 93% of its population after the cessation of commercial whaling.
