22.01.2022 Normally on All Saints and All Souls Day in Poland, millions of people visit the graves of their loved ones. However this year, because of Covid, the cemeteries were closed on those two days and instead Catholics have been laying flowers on the graves before and after.

22.01.2022 On Sunday, October 18th, we have celebrated World Mission Day. The Pauline Fathers & Brothers as a semi-contemplative monastic community have also answered the ...Church's call to missionary work. At the end of the XV century, Queen Isabella I of Castile entrusted the Pauline Fathers with the work of evangelizing the newly discovered America during the second Columbus expedition. Soon the evangelizing work begun by the Pauline Fathers was undertaken by other orders. Today Pauline missionaries work in Africa (Cameroon and South Africa). They also undertake missionary efforts in eastern Europe, in many of the former Soviet Union countries. Let us remember in our prayers about all the missionaries. W Niedziel 18 padziernika obchodzilimy wiatowy Dzie Misyjny. Swoj posug wykonuj take w Europie Wschodniej, w wielu krajach byego Zwizku Radzieckiego. Pamitajmy w naszych modlitwach o wszystkich misjonarzach. 20.01.2022 Today the Order celebrates the memorial of all the Saints of the Order. Although the Order, as an ancient tradition, does not put forward its deceased members for formal canonisation, without a doubt many of its members are enjoying perfect happiness with the God in heaven. Today the Order asks their intercession. Almighty ever-living God, who ever adorn, protect and keep your church with the different splendours of the saints,... graciously grant that by the prayers of blessed Paul the First Hermit and his holy sons and daughters, the merits of all of whom you have granted us to honour on one feast day, both that we may be purified from every fault and that we may fully enjoy eternal glory in the future. who lives and reigns with You in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God for ever and ever. 19.01.2022 Dear Pilgrims, Today in the Church and our Order we celebrate the Memorial of the Desert Father, Saint Macarius of Egypt also known as The Great or The Elder or... The Lamp of the Desert. He lived until his 91st year and is well know for his writings and miracles. A famous story from his life illustrates his holiness, humility and simplicity: ... A while later, a pregnant woman accused him of having defiled her. Macarius did not attempt to defend himself, and accepted the accusation in silence. However, when the woman's delivery drew near, her labor became exceedingly difficult. She did not manage to give birth until she confessed Macarius's innocence. A multitude of people then came asking for his forgiveness, but he fled to the Nitrian Desert to escape all mundane glory... He is venerated in our Order as his monastic tradition stems from St. Anthony the Great (Jan 17th) which in turn was influenced by St. Paul the First Hermit, the Patron and Patriarch of our Order.

13.01.2022 Bro.Bruno has returned at last to Marian Valley.A morning tea was provided today in his honour.Welcome back from all of us Brother.

11.01.2022 Today, the 8th of September is the day our Novices profess their First Vows. Given the global pandemic, our Province has been unable to send novices to the common novitiate in Poland and been allowed to have Novices in Australia. They commenced their noviciate last month. Please keep them in your prayers. If any Australians feel a call to Serve God and His Holy Church in our Order, do not be afraid!

10.01.2022 Dear Pilgrims, Today is the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord. Today is also know as Candlemas. It is based upon the account of the presentation of Jesus in... Luke 2:2240. In accordance with Leviticus 12: a woman was to be purified by presenting a lamb as a burnt offering, and either a young pigeon or dove as sin offering, 33 days after a boy's circumcision. It falls on February 2, which is traditionally the 40th day of and the conclusion of the ChristmasEpiphany season. While it is customary for Christians in some countries to remove their Christmas decorations on Twelfth Night (Epiphany Eve), those in other Christian countries historically remove them after Candlemas. On Candlemas, many Christians also bring their candles to their local church, where they are blessed and then used for the rest of the year; for Christians, these blessed candles serve as a symbol of Jesus Christ, who referred to Himself as the Light of the World. Let’s us hear what Saint Sophronius, Patriarch of Jerusalem, can reveal to us about this feast day: In honour of the divine mystery that we celebrate today, let us all hasten to meet Christ. Everyone should be eager to join the procession and to carry a light. Our lighted candles are a sign of the divine splendour of the one who comes to expel the dark shadows of evil and to make the whole universe radiant with the brilliance of his eternal light. Our candles also show how bright our souls should be when we go to meet Christ. The Mother of God, the most pure Virgin, carried the true light in her arms and brought him to those who lay in darkness. We too should carry a light for all to see and reflect the radiance of the true light as we hasten to meet him. The light has come and has shone upon a world enveloped in shadows; the Dayspring from on high has visited us and given light to those who lived in darkness. This, then, is our feast, and we join in procession with lighted candles to reveal the light that has shone upon us and the glory that is yet to come to us through him. So let us hasten all together to meet our God. The true light has come, the light that enlightens every man who is born into this world. Let all of us, my brethren, be enlightened and made radiant by this light. Let all of us share in its splendour, and be so filled with it that no one remains in the darkness. Let us be shining ourselves as we go together to meet and to receive with the aged Simeon the light whose brilliance is eternal. Rejoicing with Simeon, let us sing a hymn of thanksgiving to God, the Father of the light, who sent the true light to dispel the darkness and to give us all a share in his splendour. Through Simeon’s eyes we too have seen the salvation of God which he prepared for all the nations and revealed as the glory of the new Israel, which is ourselves. As Simeon was released from the bonds of this life when he had seen Christ, so we too were at once freed from our old state of sinfulness. By faith we too embraced Christ, the salvation of God the Father, as he came to us from Bethlehem. Gentiles before, we have now become the people of God. Our eyes have seen God incarnate, and because we have seen him present among us and have mentally received him into our arms, we are called the new Israel. Never shall we forget this presence; every year we keep a feast in his honour. "Simeon's Song of Praise" (1669), probably Rembrandt's last painting.

10.01.2022 The Province is pleased to hear that the Students of the Pontifical University of St. Thomas in the City, (Angelicum) have elected Fr. Casimir as their student president.

09.01.2022 Today on the 15th of January the Order celebrates the solemnity of its patron saint, St. Paul the First Hermit. God, you granted that Saint Paul, our Father, achieve sanctity in the desert, grant through his intercession,... that we, who are striving to develop in ourselves a spirit of prayer and service, may come ever closer to you in love. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. See more

05.01.2022 Dear Pilgrims, Today being the 20th of January, our Order and the Church celebrate with joy, the 751st anniversary of our Founder, Blessed Eusebius. Last year (...2020) was full of plans to be a Jubilee Year dedicated to Bl. Eusebius but unfortunately many of the plans made by our Order to honour him were shut down. Bl. Eusebius was born in the royal city of Esztergom (Strigonium) in Hungary, around the year 1200. He is recognised, alongside St. Paul the First Hermit, as the most important figure in the history of our Order. He gave the shape to our Pauline community by organising hermits scattered in the forests along the Danube River in Hungary, into one religious community. His path was that of a man who ignited others with love for Christ and led them into the interior desert of the soul to be Alone with God alone. We learn much about his life in the Annals of our Pauline history, particularly in The Lives of the Brothers of the Order of St. Paul the First Hermit composed by the prolific writer, Fr Gregory Gyöngyösi OSPPE. One such excerpt is as follows: ... He himself lived rich in virtue, distinguished by piety and sanctity, though with a weak and pale body. He was seasoned in all humility, taking away from his mouth and lessening, curtailing to a minimum the measure of food and drink by which he was always healthy and beautiful. Enlightened by God's grace, among the various pious duties and works, he very earnestly practiced hospitality... Eusebius dedicated himself to the Most Holy Cross, That same Cross whose power made powerless all the attempts of the ancient enemy of the human race... Even in our Hymn from Vespers (Evening Prayer) we recall the Life and Calling of Bl. Eusebius: Deep in the vast wilderness A flame illuminates the darkness; Bright prayer rises Of saintly Eusebius' hermits. O Eusebius, our Father, Astonished as we are with delight, Favored as you are by God, Gather your people as one. Deep in the vast wilderness Bright flames are deeply hidden. By lives led for the glory of God, And in praise of the Blessed Virgin Mary. O Eusebius, our Father, Astonished as we are with delight, Favored as you are by God, Father your people as one. Deep in our own lowly souls, May flames grow always anew, In praise of the Father and Son, And Holy Spirit forever. O Eusebius, our Father, Astonished as we are with delight, Favored as you are by God, Gather your people as one. Amen. Please continue to pray for us Pauline monks and our Order at the time of this feast. God Bless you all, The Pauline Fathers and Brothers.
