19.01.2022 People ask me all the time about old pianos are are they worth spending a little money on to have tuned or some simple repairs. Well... I think all pianos are special and hold a type of magic thats hard to describe. The people that have played it, practiced on it spent a large amount of their lives sitting infront of it... their thoughts, emotions, feeling, tears and joy. And then theres all of the people over the years that have sat and listened to someone play a song on the the piano. Put your hand on the side of the piano and you can almost feel the lfe its had and the people its connected with. Sit and play it no matter how good or bad it is and you are connecting with people past, present and future. So the answer is a YES

09.01.2022 Don’t be fooled by people selling 2nd hand (probably 3rd, 4th, 5th hand) pianos. When they say perfect for beginners it is probably anything but perfect. As a piano teacher with over 35 years experience, plus a composer, music educator, concert artist and also a piano tuner I can tell you that there are so many pianos being sold which are 50-60-70+ years old and should not be sold to beginners or anyone who is learning piano. What you think could be a 30 year old piano coul...d end up being an 80 year old box of trouble. PLEASE get the piano checked by someone who has had experience in this area - A Piano Tuner!! The internal workings (action) and also the tuning pins as well as a lot of other parts need to be checked. You could be buying a big problem without having the piano checked.
