22.01.2022 Last year I created this one of a kind piece for Andy, Melanie and family based on a family trip to Paris. It was my absolute pleasure to create this piece as I adore the family with the values they uphold and their generous and kind hearts. . Andy and I have done numerous theatre productions together including the Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables and Jesus Christ Superstar. On a separate occassion Noah joined our production of Miss Saigon playing Tam. It's always a ple...asure and we've made wonderful memories over the years. . 18.01.2022 I love when I get to draw a pet in a commission. Imagine my joy when I was asked to draw not one but 7 pets! This was commissioned as Christmas gift and the instructions were to draw Hannah (the giftee) sitting with Simba, Franklin, Milly, Starsky and Hutch, Milly and Milo while wearing slytherin pj's. Oh and some of the pets will wear party hats and it'd be awesome to have a favourite chair in the shot and a hogwarts blanket. Phew, that's a lot of instructions, but I-gotchu. . This was so much fun. I loved all the pets and all the personalities that needed to be captured. I love specifics like in this piece: Two horses, a donkey, parents & son, 2 dogs and a basket of mushrooms. Bring it on! . 15.01.2022 Holidays are simply the best! My wife @kwad2202 and I took our fluffos @lola_louie_spaniel_adventures for a trip down south over the weekend and it was such a nice get away . 12.01.2022 It's nice to take a break once and a while so I took two weeks away from social media while I played with this brand new toy, which I'm loving! . I've been a cintiq user well over 10 years and adore working from my 27inch tablet but I'm deskbound while I use it. Now that I own an iPad I'm able to produce art when I'm out an about, on the couch or on lunch break at my day job. It's great! . I'm still getting used to using the iPad and am loving learning all the shortcuts on ...procreate but haven't quite gotten my art to the same standards I'm used to using the cintiq. Anyone else experience the same learning curve while transitioning away from Wacom? . 09.01.2022 My wife @kwad2202 and I have been rewatching a lot of old nostalgic classics on @disneyplus recently. 'Honey I Shrunk the Kids' was a real stand out - it surprised us how well it held up after all these years. There's a retro charm to frame-by-frame animation and physical sets that preceed the era of CGI that I super appreciate. . I remember seeing this film in cinema (yep, I old) with my Grandad and being amazed and astounded with the imagination that went into this film. ...Rewatching it with the lense of an adult was also interesting - I did not pick up on the marital issues that are implied, or the subtle humour that was inserted throughout just for the adults. . 07.01.2022 Around once each year it comes the time where I am due to get a new pair of reading glasses. My tried and true recipe for finding a new pair consists of the repititious action of swapping my glasses for the potential replacement, adopting the inspection pose in front of the mirror and tilting my head ever so slightly in fractal degrees. Rinse. Repeat. . It feels like the quest for the perfect pair is always just one repetition away and then never quite gets there. 03.01.2022 I’m a little late to the party posting about this, but the passing of @chadwickboseman was such a sad bit of news. . I remember being a bit iffy about the character Black Panther before seeing the film as I didn’t really understand what made him special. The introduction of T’chala in civil war and then his title film were amazing! Im happy he was able to see endgame to see out that chapter, but that we won’t see him in black panther 2 is a real blow .
