19.01.2022 Graphic Content GRASS SEEDS They are more sinister than you may think Grass seeds are like self forging bullets that penetrate the skin, they can carry some bacteria but that’s not the worst part of them. ... As they are not an organism your dogs body can not kill it or destroy it, rather the body creates an inflammatory reaction around the area (which can infect) and this reaction goes on & on until the grass seed is expelled or sucked deeper into the skin/tissue & may even track internally through the body. This is where the serious problem lies The dog can suffer severe symptoms, pain, swelling, redness, heat & loss of function. They can track internally through the body and can cause serious damage to vital organs which may result in death. So how do you avoid this? regular visits to the groomer (Us groomers look all over your dogs body while we bath, dry & groom, we tend to be the main ones who find these little terrors) keeping your dog short over spring & summer (for poodles, Maltese & the like) -As grass seeds are more prevalent over these times, keeping your dogs hair shorter you will be able spot them quicker before they become a problem) keeping your dog coat, dead hair / knotty / chunky free (double coated breeds) - These dogs needs minimal thickness over spring & summer to help them stay cool, it also keeps the hair flowy & light making it easier for you to spot grass seeds as well as less likely for them to get stuck in the coat and penetrate the skin after every walk, check your dog all over! -This includes the face, inbetween the toes, in the mouth & in the ears & don’t forget the tail!!

17.01.2022 3 hours spent but totally worth it for that end result .. Lapphunds have a very different coat to other double coated breeds. They are super dense & thick & develop a hugely dense undercoat. They are actually easier coats to maintain if they come for baths regularly as they typically drop coat once to twice a year only .. That means that inbetween those drop cycles they only need a bath & dry meaning quicker & cheaper for you #winning ... Where the problem lies .. When a Lappie has not been in for a bath & deshed around their coat drop cycle this can then cause a major problem -1- the dead hair knotts as their coat is super dense and the dead hair can’t escape (like other breeds) -2- this can cause skin issues such as hot spots -3- this means a much bigger job when you bring them in as the dead hair doesn’t move as easily and we need to individually brush line by line then comb line by line to ensure the knotted dreadlocky dead hair is out -4- the dead hair knots to the new hair / current hair which means the current hair May break as we get the knots out (unavoidable) Causing holes in the coat (parts where there is minimal hair looking like the dog is balding, even though it’s not .... A Lappie in this condition can take 2-4 hours - we charge per hour as it’s a big job & hard work .. this means you could be looking at $200-$300+ for a Lappie who hasn’t seen a groomer regularly (WE REFUSE TO SHAVE!) $200-$300 twice a year (2 coat drops) ... If you were to see us regularly (every 8-10 weeks) you would only need a bath & dry inbetween the coat drop cycles MEANING That you are actually saving money as $200-$300 is actually a whole years worth of Bathing & maintenance Desheds Which would you prefer? Your dog to look & smell good all year round with no knots & save money ? OR see a groomer once maybe twice a year & have all the health & money concerns related ? #grooming #doggrooming #groomerslife #finnishlapphund #lapphund #prettydog See more

16.01.2022 From January 2021 we will have a price increase of $5 For most of our services (not all) I understand times are tough for everyone, but (as I’m told over and over) I’m way too cheap compared to numerous other groomers out there, and my work speaks for itself! Not only do I use top quality products, but I am also very proud of my work, and ensure I always hand out exceptional quality grooms that myself and others can be proud of. ... When you book your hair or eyelashes with a technician who has years of experience and is one of the best, you pay premium prices sure, but you also know the quality is going to be amazing! Plus we go above and beyond for our customers and their dogs Our customer service + the love & time we spend with each dog is one of the qualities that sets us apart from others I feel increasing by a measley $5 is really Not breaking anyone’s bank, and I’ve done so thinking of everyone else and the tough year we have all had in 2020

15.01.2022 Start 2021 with a bang! Do you want to change careers? Want to become a Dog Groomer? Dont have thousands for a course? (A course where you can’t even get a job as a Groomer anyway?) ... Want to learn & get paid? .... Drop a YES if you are interested share the post with anyone you think might benefit tag anyone you think might be interested .... We will be sending out more information, and potentially having an info night last week of December 2020. See more

13.01.2022 Just beautiful to keep receiving such lovely and kind words

13.01.2022 Sometimes knots just hide so deep into a coat an owner wouldn’t notice it as they aren’t trained or have the right tools to spot them

11.01.2022 Verema, Admire Rakti, Araldo, Red Cadeaux, Regal Monarch, The Cliffsofmoher and all the horses who have died on Australian racing tracks & in slaughterhouses. We remember you. #MelbourneCup

03.01.2022 Domestic & Family Violence awareness Month! This is something that I have experienced both on a physical level & an emotional and verbal level for a good combined 8 years of life. Just because they don’t put their hands on you doesn’t mean it’s not abuse ... Bringing awareness to this side of it is huge, as for so long I believed & was lead to believe it wasn’t & myself & my daughter suffered tremendously thinking we were being ungrateful etc As a survivor & someone who not only has been through it but refuses to be continually scarred by it & im now living my best life with minimal triggers I’m always here for anyone .. for a talk, for guidance, for support https://vm.tiktok.com/ZS4RsSFY/
