23.01.2022 SOUND ON! Who's ready for the GoT finale tonight!!
23.01.2022 Yoda's parents are shifting into an over 50s and are not allowed to have animals, so they are looking for a special home for him He is a Devon Rex and Devons have wavy fur, their temperament is special Unlike other cats, Devons remain kittens at heart forever, and their loving nature connects them deeply with every family member. The social nature of the Devon makes them unsuited to spending long periods of time without companionship so having someone at home most of the tim...e is important. Some people say that Devons are hypoallergenic but that cannot be said fully, however, because when they shed hair, their unique wavy coat may makse the shedding hair less obtrusive than that of many cats. Some people with animal allergies tolerate Devons very well. He will not do well with other animals and he is not used to little children so we would prefer either just a couple, or a couple with older children. He is a scaredy cat and will rush to hide when people come, but will emerge soon and sit amongst the visitors to be admired by everyone and will just place himself on visitors' knees. Although he is still playful as Devons are, he is past the stage of tearing at the furniture.. all his things go with him including the tall cat scratcher. Because people are discovering how special Devons are they have become very expensive to buy. But we are happy just for a good home for him. Phone Gaye on 0406 003 501
21.01.2022 Isn't "Storm" the Woma Python gorgeous!!
21.01.2022 CUTENESS ALERT Look at these adorable babies!! We are hoping we can find them a home just in time for Christmas There is 1 boy (white chest) and 1 girl (plain grey), they are 7 weeks old and will be vaccinated, microchipped and wormed. It would be great if they went to a home together as they have so much fun wrestling and cuddling but it is not essential. Come in for a cuddle...we bet you won't be able to put them down!
21.01.2022 Found! Green-cheeked Conure. In the Stafford area near Stafford Rd. If you know anyone that has lost their bird recently please tell them to call us on 3352 3606.
21.01.2022 Merry Christmas everyone! Wishing you a safe and happy holiday from all of us at Pawprint Vet Practice.
21.01.2022 Hi Everyone, Just a quick message - you all can feel the heat out there, so dont forget your furred, feathered or scaly companions. Put ice blocks in water bowls and check regularly. Also you can freeze water in plastic bottles and place them in their beds or enclosures. Anything in a fur coat (including rats, mice and G Pigs) would be feeling the heat more than most. Having said that, reptiles would be suffering if youre not providing a sufficient cool end; and fish will... be hurting if temperatures go higher than 26C for tropicals (and turtles) and about 22C for goldfish. You can place bottles of iced water in their enclosures/tanks/ponds as well. This saves having to de-chlorinate ice cubes. We hope all the humans are coping with the heat as well. :-) See more
20.01.2022 Happy Friday cuteness overload!!
18.01.2022 HAPPY DENTAL MONTH! Did you know that four out of every five dogs and cats over the age of three have some sort of dental disease which becomes more severe with age? This can be a real problem because it can lead to more serious problems such as illnesses related to the heart, liver and kidneys. This month you can come in any time for a FREE dental check and we will make sure your pet isn't at risk.
18.01.2022 We all love to spoil our pets at Christmas time, but there are some foods that should definitely be avoided. Stick to pet-safe treats this festive seaon to avoid an unwanted trip to the vet.
17.01.2022 What amazing progress!! This is Ollie the 7 1/2 year old, male Labrador. He came into the clinic in July this year at 50.3Kg with lameness in one of his front legs. We sent him home with anti-inflammatories and strict instructions to lose some weight. We recommended IVORY COAT dog food for his diet as it is grain free. Over the next few months Ollie came in for regular visits for weight checks and Cartrophen injections to help his joints. His owners were very committed... to his dieting and he soon stopped begging for treats and started enjoying his exercise. He is now down to 42.7Kg, full of beans and off his pain medication! That is an incredible 7.6Kg weight loss in 4 months! Just goes to show what a little perseverance can achieve. WELL DONE OLLIES FAMILY! See more

14.01.2022 WANTED, FUREVER HOME FOR LOVELY CAT! This is little Smudge, a 9 month old female Burmese cross. She was found a few weeks ago on a couch during hard rubbish pickup. While she may have been quite comfortable, she had quite a bad infection in her uterus and had to be desexed. She is super affectionate and loves smooches. If you are looking to adopt or know anyone that does please contact us on 3352 3606
13.01.2022 Dear All, As most of you know, I got married in September 2014. You may not know though that my husband lives in Emerald (Central Highlands of Qld) and since the wedding we actually havent had the opportunity to move in together. I have wanted to sell for a number of years now, but the timing was somehow never right. Anyway, it seems like the stars have finally aligned and everything has come together.... I am very happy with the succession plans we have made. Drs Susan Dawson and Rod Marshall from Anvet Kedron have bought me out and I am sincerely happy for them to take over and maintain the status quo or in fact, improve on what I started. Dr Susan and I overlapped at University in the mid-1980s, so were of the same vintage, and after several meetings and chats, I feel we have a very similar approach to pet care and client satisfaction. Dr Jim Healy, Zara (Head nurse) and Dan (Vet nurse) are all remaining. I invite you to please continue supporting them and the new staff. I thank you all for allowing me the privilege of being your pets family Vet over the last 12 years. It has been wonderful to share the good times, and I hope I have been a support during the sad times. I can recall many good conversations and so with mixed feelings I will be departing. Im certainly looking forward to starting something new in Emerald and no, I wont be starting up a practice there :-) . If youre ever in town though, please look me up. Yours very Sincerely, Gillian PS My last day is March 1st!
12.01.2022 IMPORTANT If you are wanting to contact us at the clinic about anything please call us on 3352 3606. Due to being a busy clinic our emails aren't always checked regularly and our Facebook Messenger is not monitored at all, so phone is definitely the best way to reach us as we don't want to accidentally miss any messages. Thank you so much. Have a GREAT day
