19.01.2022 Last night, friends of mine saw a car hit a puppy on the road, and he was left in the middle of the road, without any ounce of care if he was still alive. My fr...iends stopped to help him, found he was still alive, and took him home as it was late. This morning, they called me to ask if I could help this little boy. I said to bring him here, without knowing how seriously damaged he was. I took him for XRays, and all my fears became real... The poor little boy, who I named Dragonfly, mostly because of the shape of his starved body, had a broken spine. The vet said one particular bone in his spine is crushed. In the Xrays, it also shows his stomach is full of rocks and debris. I was the one who was crushed with the outcome, as I was hoping for something different. The vet stared at me, as if asking me what was next... I looked at this poor boy’s eyes, and saw so much pain in them. They were like a mirror, reflecting my own eyes full of sadness for him. If it is true when they say the eyes are the windows of the soul, I only saw so much suffering from a life of misery. If the tables were turned, would he take my life, without giving me a chance...even if my eyes were begging him, without saying a word? So how could I even consider taking away his life, when he has not even lived at all? I looked at the vet, and nodded my head...I said, I was not putting him down. Dragonfly’s wings are broken at the moment, but if I can help in any way, even making him smile, that would be a start to something. The vet could not find a single drop of blood to test him further, he is severely malnourished and anemic, with the worst infestation of parasites. He is too sick; he wouldn’t stand a chance in surgery, and survive the anesthesia. This is not the first case of a dog with a broken spine. Shaggy was paralyzed from the waist down, but after only 3 months of constant rehabilitation, visits to the acupuncturist, cold laser, water therapy, he was able to not only walk, but he could run just as fast as my healthy dogs. I am the one who always believe in miracles, so why not one for him? 01.01.2022 Looked after much!!! Darren hardly ever stops to eat, especially on most food collection days. Therefore, what a wonderful surprise it was for him today when he... was given lunch - vegan bruschetta, coffee and cold drinks - along with a good hours break with great conversation by the fabulous Shannon & Vyk from Mylor Bakery! Truth be known, Shannon & Vyk are regular suppliers of coffee to Darren and gifts of bread and food to us. Never more beautiful genuine people will you find and they donate extra vegan organic bread and scraps to the Furever Farm animals regularly. Mylor Bakery is 100% vegan and organic AND a small local business. If you have a shop, or know of one, that doesn't yet stock Shannon & Vyk's amazing products we can definitely recommend you do. You can contact Mylor Bakery right here on Facebook. Support local....support vegan! https://www.facebook.com/Mylor-Bakery-225566391145715/ Thanks for the lunch today guys! We can assure you Darren loved it.....and is talking about it still! FUREVER FARM - Where the voiceless come to speak
