25.01.2022 This is the best post that I have noticed today, Remembrance Day; all encompassing of the Forces and their animals.

22.01.2022 The statewide #SaveOurKoalas protests have put this bill that would push koalas closer to extinction in the news. We have won a short delay but to scrap the bill we need to keep the pressure up to save koala habitat. Send an urgent message to MPs now http://nature.org.au/koalas

17.01.2022 PLEASE people, spread the word, don't assume people know about paralysis ticks and how to prevent them - or that they will recognise the symptoms and know to take their dog to a vet! Also never assume these days that there is a tick season, as it has been proven that with climate change there is no longer a tick season and in fact ticks are now a year-round danger. If in doubt and you find you can't convince a dog owner with a dog displaying sickness and wobblyness that t...heir dog might have a tick (don't wait for the back legs to stiffen, as sometimes, particularly with very small dogs, they actually don't, they go straight to not being able to walk!), then literally demand that they get into the car with you, or someone they know well, and drive them to the nearest vet! Do not delay, a paralysis tick can steal the life of one's dog within a few days - and if the symptoms haven't been that obvious previously, within a few hours, as stated in the vet's post. https://www.facebook.com//a.407282049047/10159379301359048/

17.01.2022 WE DID IT! Laws to protect animal victims of domestic violence JUST passed through Parliament. Animal abuse will now be formally recognised as a form of domesti...c violence, and animals will be included on Apprehended Domestic Violence Orders. PLUS we passed an amendment so NSW law now recognises the link between animal abuse and domestic violence. But we won’t stop here, there’s more to be done. We need laws which recognise animals as living, sentient beings instead of mere ‘property’. I support the recommendation by Domestic Violence NSW that the definition of ‘persons’ in domestic violence legislation should include animals. The fact that animals are considered property under the law is an anomaly. Nobody considers their cat or dog as a piece of property- as nothing more than a table or chair, they are members of the family, and our legislation should reflect that. The Animal Justice Party is committed to working toward long term domestic violence reform. With my tougher penalties legislation now being debated in Parliament, I’m certain we’ll have even more success in this space to share with you soon!

16.01.2022 To help here in NSW, ring 9413 4300.

14.01.2022 Hopefully they will get a number of donations to help with the veterinary work for these rabbits, as that is a lot of neuterings and vaccinations!, and assisting them to care for them until they get their, hopefully loving and caring, new homes.

14.01.2022 Wow, amazing, positive stuff for animals and the environment!

12.01.2022 Well, if Terri Irwin and Australia Zoo are on the case, it surely won't be too long before the law is suitably changed and Koalas can be released to a safer location!

10.01.2022 BILE FARM RESCUE UPDATE. The moon bears we rescued this year from 18 years of hell locked in bile farms are on the road to recovery. The 2 girls rescued on Octo...ber 1 completed quarantine & now have access to a training enclosure to build their confidence before moving on to the forest. We captured in this video their very first time outdoors - it was so incredibly heartwarming to see them smelling & exploring the enclosure, digging holes, looking in log piles for treats & swimming, probably for the first time in their lives. The male we rescued in February is loving his forest enclosure & we can't wait to see the reaction of the girls when they are introduced to the forest (excuse the mistake on the slide, he is Vietnam Rescue #51, not Laos). Thank you to our supporters, Bear Carers & those who have joined & supported our WALK to FREE THE BEARS, for helping rescue these gorgeous bears from a miserable life of torture and helping us try to make up for the suffering they've endured. None of this would be possible without your support. Thank you. #BeABearCarer #WALKtoFREETHEBEARS https://walk-to-free-the-bears.raisely.com https://freethebears.org/pages/bear-carer
