25.01.2022 A chilli start at 5 Degrees in Katoomba this morning, 9M timber builders supply for a new build starting this week

24.01.2022 Building treehouses and forts is a rite of passage for many Australian children, but they need to be built safely. Earlier this month an Ausgrid employee was ri...ding his bike in Balgowlah when he noticed a treehouse on the median strip. It had been built in a tree under live powerlines and its roof was centimetres away from the wires. A crew then attended the scene to install the black and yellow 'tiger tails' on the wires so they were clearly visible and the treehouse was dismantled a few days later. General Manager Field Operations Sam Sofi says it's a timely reminder that everyone needs to be aware of the dangers of live wires in all kind of situations. What started out as innocent fun for local kids could very easily have become a tragedy if someone had come into contact with those live wires, Mr Sofi said. It’s just luck one of our employees happened to spot the hazard and did the right thing and reported it. We don’t want to be the fun police. Building forts and climbing trees is what Australian summers are made for, but we just urge parents to check where their kids are playing and stay clear of power poles and power lines. Always look up for overhead powerlines and if you see fallen wires never approach them, always assume they are live, stay at least 8metres away and report them to us.

24.01.2022 6 degrees in Kincumber today for a galvanised steel pole swap. The client doesnt fancy going though this process again so has chosen a Titan Composite pole. #titanpoles #paylesspowerpoles #level2electrician @ Kincumber South, New South Wales

22.01.2022 This front yard in Northwood has a 40 foot cliff in the middle of it. We had to lower the new pole down on a rope to avoid lifting it up the other 50 foot cliff that faces the roadway. #privatepole #paylesspowerpoles #level2electrician #level2asp #lanecove

22.01.2022 6 Degrees in Engadine this morning for a rotten timber pole changeover.

22.01.2022 The team loves working in rural areas, easy truck access, fresh air and no traffic to deal with. 2 timber pole swaps in Berrilee this morning to start the off the day.

21.01.2022 The crane had no trouble lifting what was left of this pole out of the ground, the neighbour told us it just needed straightening up prior to us starting the job. #level2electrician #privatepole #thornleigh #paylesspowerpoles

20.01.2022 Replacing 2 corroded steel poles installed during construction of this semi in Padstow this morning with new Titans. They only lasted 12 years from new and have been deemed defective by the supply authority.

20.01.2022 Dropping a load of timber poles at the recycling yard today, they are fed through a large mill that cuts off the treated section of the wood and made into beautiful timber beams for structural and landscape use. #paylesspowerpoles #recycledtimber #privatepole #timbermill #recycling

19.01.2022 This galavanised pole in Caringbah South failed because the installers cut way too big a hole for the underground cable entry. After several years of constant load from the overhead cables the pole began to bend due to the weakened area of the pole. #caringbahsouth #paylesspowerpoles #level2electrician

19.01.2022 9.5M timber in Newport today including new 3 phase aerials and a reconnect.

19.01.2022 Here’s a map showing all locations of Titan Composite poles we have installed to date. There is growing interest and support for a pole that will not rust, rot or corrode under any circumstances. #Titanpoles #privatepole #paylesspowerpoles

18.01.2022 Installing the very first Titan pole in Katoomba today. Endevour Energy requires 5.5m clearance over all parts of the road so a 9M Titan pole was required to obtain the cable height for this new build. @ Katoomba, New South Wales

18.01.2022 PRIVATE POLES AND BUSHFIRE SAFETY: Privately owned power poles and powerlines which aren't safely maintained can become a serious bushfire risk. Ausgrid is res...ponsible for maintaining the electricity network in the street and supplying power to the connection point on your home. 17.01.2022 One very lucky cat narrowly avoided losing one of its nine lives this week after climbing to the top of an Ausgrid distribution pole in Ramsgate, coming within ...just centimetres of live wires. The kittys owners were waiting anxiously below the powerpole when the Ausgrid crew arrived to de-energise the powerlines before conducting the rescue. Lineworker Michael Ryan has witnessed a cat rescue only once before at Ausgrid, but this time it was his turn to go up in the cherry picker to collect the lucky feline. Im surprised it didnt get a shock to be honest, it was sitting in between two live conductors and it was moving around a lot. It was about 10 centimetres away from being zapped, we couldnt get there soon enough. We had to turn the power off for our safety while doing the job and for the cats safety too. I called out to it and said it would be okay. When I got closer to it I just grabbed it and hugged it to me. It was surprisingly fine, just sitting in my arms. When I got closer to the ground it started freaking out a bit. The owner was very happy to get his cat back. I was just relieved we got it down safely for him it was a close call for that cat. Its the second time in five weeks Ausgrid crews have been called to rescue a cat, after daredevil feline Frankie climbed atop a powerpole in Matraville in June. Thanks to Kyle for snapping these photos!

17.01.2022 This rotten timber pole was installed so deep in a Bayview valley it had to be cut into pieces small enough to carry out by hand. We replaced it with a Titan Composite and had power back on by 2PM.

17.01.2022 Craning in another 7.2M Titan Composite private pole on Warriewood headland. Galvanised steel poles don’t last very long this close to the sea, so following some research the customer chose a private pole that resists salt damage so completely they are also used commercially as permanently submerged pier posts in salt waters. #paylesspowerpoles #warriewoodheadland #level2asp #level2electrician #titanpoles #dulhuntypoles

12.01.2022 It’s rare to install five 9.5M poles in a day, and rarer still that they are painted yellow and meter marked before being completely buried and left underground. This quarry in Kemps Creek will be back filled with 8M+ of soil and fill in the future and the poles are designed to keep the process even as the levels rise. #privatepole #palfingercrane #paylesspowerpoles #kempscreek

06.01.2022 An Endeavour Energy defect notice was issued to our clients for a very wobbly in ground and thin below ground level private pole and not within 1m of front boundary. Our clients chose the Titan Power Pole which is rot, termite, rust and fire proof. We then had to junction and extended the underground consumer mains in a underground pillar. Our client also chose to upgrade to a 3 phase supply ready for future alternations. #paylesspowerpoles #level2asp #level2electrician #privatepowerpoles #titanpoles #titanpowerpoles @ Bringelly, New South Wales, Australia

06.01.2022 PRIVATE POLES AND BUSHFIRE SAFETY: If you have private poles or powerlines on your property you have an important role to play in helping to reduce bushfire ris...k. As a property owner, you must: Maintain all privately-owned poles (including pole-top fittings) and overhead powerlines on your property keep your trees, branches and other vegetation a safe distance away from all poles (including pole-top fittings) and overhead powerlines on your property, and keep your trees, branches and vegetation a safe distance from Ausgrids electricity network, including our poles and overhead powerlines, which may be located near your property. To protect the community, our crews carry out ground inspections to check for potential bushfire hazards on privately-owned poles and overhead powerlines. This includes checking that your vegetation is not growing too close to these electrical assets. If we identify any bushfire hazards on your property, we provide you with a notice that tells you what you need to do to protect your safety and the timeframe in which you must complete the work. By working together, we can reduce the risk of bushfires and help keep our community safe. You can find more information at http://ow.ly/wE3Y50ADCM8

05.01.2022 SAFETY ALERT: One of our crews was called to a potentially dangerous situation in Sydney's north. They found this cubby house attached to a private power pole.... Electricity was disconnected to make the site safe. Never play near powerlines or attach anything to a power pole.If you want to report a hazard on the electricity network to us you can call us on 131388 or go to ausgrid.com.au/report See more

05.01.2022 PRIVATE POLES AND BUSHFIRE SAFETY: As part of our annual bushfire safety program, over the cooler months you may see our crews doing ground inspections of priva...tely-owned power poles, pole-top fittings and overhead powerlines to check for bushfire hazards. We look for things like poles that are termite damaged, rotting or leaning, as well as trees growing too close to your poles or powerlines. Private poles and powerlines that arent safely maintained by property owners can become a serious bushfire risk. Were working with customers in bushfire prone areas of our network to identify and repair any defects well ahead of the next bushfire season. Learn more by visiting http://ow.ly/SGtA50AFROD.

01.01.2022 8M hardwood pole for a new build in Keiraville this morning.

01.01.2022 A pole with a view to start the week. This customer was issued a defect for a timber pole that was on a lean, the ground had slowly given way over the years. We excavated and winched the pole straight on Friday, and installed a second pole to obtain required clearance over the driveway and will today run the new supply on the repaired pole. #level2electrician #level2asp #paylesspowerpoles #narrabeenlake #elanoraheights
