Kid’s day is a great way to introduce your children to dental check ups in a fun and non-threatening way. Our theme this time was Costumes of the World.

21.01.2022 KIDS DAY Saturday 20th February! At Payneham Road Dental & Specialist Centre we have a special day for children only. Regular visits help your child to feel comfortable with their dentist. Whilst waiting to have their dental checks and rides in the chair there are plenty of games and crafts to make visiting the dentist a fun experience. We love seeing the children have a great morning at the dentist, with lots of activities, beautiful smiles and rewards to take home.... We have very limited spots left for February 20th 2021. Please call (08) 8363 2025 to arrange an appointment. Our next Children's Day is scheduled 6 months later on Saturday 21st August 2021. We look forward to seeing some new smiles!

18.01.2022 Did you know we now offer one visit crowns? We are proud to offer CEREC, a breakthrough computerised 3D technology that allows us to create custom dental crowns and veneers right in our office all during a single appointment. A new smile in just one visit!

15.01.2022 Introducing Dr. Grant Johnstone: Dr Grant Johnstone graduated from the University of Adelaide in 1999 with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS). He has always maintained a high level of continuing professional development, far exceeding the requirements of our regulatory body (AHPRA).... Work History: After graduating from University, he worked in Hobart for 4 years, before working for 7 years in Newark, UK. He finally moved back to Adelaide in 2010, and commenced tutoring the 4th and 5th (final) year dental students at the University of Adelaide. He has also previously worked at Kensington Dental Care, Kensington Park and Hart Dental, Unley. Personal: Dr Grant Johnstone met his wife, Katie, in the UK and have 2 wonderful young children, Bethany and Dylan. His interests outside of Dentistry are travelling, movies, hiking, cricket and soccer but with a young family, he does not get to indulge in them often!

11.01.2022 Following on from having our solar panels installed we are reducing the environmental impact of our dental practice by replacing our plastic and switching to paper bags and paper cups. We also now stock bamboo toothbrushes and interdental brushes to minimise our impact on the environment without compromising our oral health!

10.01.2022 We would like to welcome back one of our lovely hygienists, Rachel! We are very excited to have Rachel returning back to work next week after maternity leave with her beautiful baby boy Charlie.

09.01.2022 We are happy to announce our newest technology in our Hygiene department The AIRFLOW prophylaxis Master. AIRFLOW Plus powder comfortably and efficiently removes biofilm, stains and young calculus below and above gum line reducing the need for hand and po...wer instrumentation. No more rubber cups, brushes and paste as PS Instrument delivers minimally invasive scaling where needed. 05.01.2022 Thank you to everyone who joined us in another successful Children's Day! Our patients loved their craft activities and got to make their own tooth fairy boxes today. This is a great way to get children excited about their dental visits without any fear. We aim to make the day very fun and exciting with dress ups, activities, crafts, rides in the dental chair and of course a gift bag of goodies for the kids to take home. 04.01.2022 Today we say goodbye and good luck to a very valued member of our team as she embarks on her new journey of motherhood! Anyone who has seen Rachel here knows she has always been a very hardworking and highly valued member of our work family and although we are sad to see her go, we are very excited for the times she has ahead with her new family. The passion, organisation and effort that she puts into her work life just shows what an amazing mother she will be. Rachel and Matthew - we all wish you the absolute best! It’s not goodbye, it’s just see you later! (We already can’t wait for you to come back and visit)

Whilst waiting to have their dental checks and rides in the chair there was plenty of games and activities. The morning was filled with lots of children making their own stars using bright colours and glitter ready for the festive season. Our next Kids Day is scheduled in 6 months Saturday 23rd May 2020. Raena graduated in Bachelor of Dental surgery with first class honours from University of Adelaide. Her academic research was about computer designed ceramic crowns which is published in the international journal of prosthodontics. ... Raena is a passionate dental practitioner who takes pride in delivering high quality treatment in gentle manner. She believes in importance of spending time treating patients with anxiety to ensure providing stress free experience. Her focus is on building relationships, beautifying smiles and making positive changes in the lives of her clients. Raena is enthusiastic about educating her clients, helping them understand the existing situation of their oral health and available treatment options to achieve their functional and aesthetic goals. She regards it as a privilege to be able to treat people for long term oral health wellbeing. Outside dentistry Raena enjoys painting, reading and designing craft wood home accessories with her husband.
