25.01.2022 So many thanks to the lovely Wayne, and our other contributors this week Here is a very quick rundown of what we have available at the Payne Street Pantry - Laundry powder... Canned vegetables Canned soups Canned fish Instant soups Baby formula Baby cereal Baby food Nappies Nappy pants Toilet paper Coffee pods Tea bags Porridge Mandarins Kaffir limes Kaffir lime leaves Rice Pasta Cat food Dog food Rabbit food Fruit puree Deoderant Toothbrushes Soap Feminine hygiene products Plus more! We have also had books and records donated as well which was a lovely surprise! I had been considering setting up a book nook, and this might be just the push I needed - hopefully more to come soon! In a fortnight construction on our new raised beds will begin along the front fenceline. These beds will be a communal growing space, where food is grown and shared with visitors to the Pantry. I will have more details to share with everyone shortly

22.01.2022 Good evening folks! Just a quick update to let you know we have had a couple of anonymous donations this week, including canned goods, cereals, muesli bars, fruit pouches, and several ostomy bags and adhesive removal spray. Thank you so much to whomever dropped these things over! Until next time, stay warm!

20.01.2022 Good afternoon all I hope you're all enjoying this lovely sunny Sunday! So many thanks to Claire who generously donated to the pantry today! I am sure there will be lots of happy recipients over the days to come. I've given the pantry a bit of a spring clean today and will be adding some more signage this afternoon. Hopefully the flowers from our garden have helped to liven the place up a bit ... If anyone is after styrofoam boxes (most with lids), please help yourself to them - they are located behind the car under the carport.

19.01.2022 ** EDIT - POLKA DOT MASK NOW SOLD (I will make more this coming week) ** ........................................................................................... Good afternoon folks ... I hope everyone is safe & well! Firstly I would like to say a big thank you to those of you who have made donations over the past few weeks! I do apologise if I am not able to thank people daily, I've been spending less time on social media and more time out in the yard with my youngsters and making masks for various fundraisers. As we all know, masks are now mandatory (unless you have a medical exemption). We are asking that visitors please sanitise their hands, wear a mask and keep their distance from one another. The last thing we want is for the Pantry to become a source of transmission and have to be closed. We now have for sale a few handmade masks ($10 each), made from recycled materials. Although I have washed all fabric prior to making the masks, they should still be washed before use. ALL money from sales of masks will be donated to The Winged Horse Equine Welfare Inc Mask sales will be contactless, and can be arranged via messenger. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to make contact. I will attach a photo of our current masks below. Sizes are written on packaging. Large should suit most adults. Medium seem a good fit on 10-16 year olds. Small suits children under 10. But these are all guesstimates. I haven't yet perfected sizing yet If you'd like to know the measurement of a specific mask, please message me. If you are not needing a mask but would still like to make a donation, please visit The Winged Horse Equine Welfare Inc. for more details.

19.01.2022 Good afternoon folks. It is official - WE ARE BACK! As you can see we have had a name change. Don't worry, things will operate as normal for the most part. I will be back at a later stage with more details. Until then, I hope you're all enjoying this lovely sunshine!

17.01.2022 Good evening folks I hope you've had a great week and are looking forward to the weekend ahead. Thanks to the wonderful Celia, and the team at FMB, we now have more bread, fruit & veggies to offer you all. Hooray!!

15.01.2022 Many thanks to the amazing Rebecca from Portarlington Food is Free and Feed Me Bellarine, for the huge amount of vegetables, fruit & herbs donated this afternoon! We currently have around 25 kilos of carrots, 10 kilos of onions, several kilos of both potatoes & broccoli, along with mandarins, apples, and lemons.

15.01.2022 A fantastic discussion and overview of our current situation and a better way moving forward. Always a pleasure to listen to David Holmgren.

14.01.2022 Good afternoon folks :) My apologies for not updating the page over the past week. Life got in the way and my time was divided between a few too many things. Fortunately I am back on track today. The pantry has been tidied, spoiled foods have been composted and we are ready for more visitors! You will notice we have some old and sad looking potatoes, I haven't thrown these away as they are ready to go into the ground to grow again!... As always, if you are after something but cannot find it in the pantry, please feel free to inbox the page and I will do my best to help you. Many thanks to our wonderful contributors and volunteers who collect food from FMB, without you the pantry would not be able to offer support to as many people as we do.

14.01.2022 Goof afternoon folks What a glorious winters day we are having! After spending the morning outside enjoying the sun, I decided to go through my seed storage. It turns out I had a large amount of Daikon Radish seeds which are best before October 2020. There is no way I can use them all, so I will put some in the pantry today for others to take & grow and will drop some to the Port Free Food Hut (@ 24 Welfare St, Port) next week. My apologies once again for being quiet. Re...st assured the pantry is still operational! I have been busy with homeschooling children and my own study so haven't had a lot of time for updating the page - but I will try to at least post weekly updates going forward. Many thanks to our lovely community for the recent donations to the pantry! We have had everything from nappies and coffee pods to laundry powder and aspirin. I will restock the toilet paper today with a few rolls from our personal stash. If anyone else has excess, feel free to drop a roll or two over.

13.01.2022 Our fantastic gardener (Adam), has a great deal for those of you wanting to become permanent clients. With his attention to detail, reliability, very affordable pricing and his bright & cheerful personality, Adam is by far the best gardener we have ever had! Let's support our local small businesses who are doing it tough during these uncertain times

12.01.2022 If any of our lovely followers are able to spare a few dollars to help support The Winged Horse Equine Welfare Inc, they would be extremely grateful Please don't feel guilty if you can't, sharing their post will also help to spread the word and raise funds and is totally free! This week I will start making face masks and will have them for sale at the Pantry (hopefully by the end of the week). All money from mask sales will be donated to The Winged Horse Equine Welfare Inc to help get them back on their feet

11.01.2022 Good morning folks I hope your Tuesday is off to a fantastic start! Earlier this week we received a large donation of nappies and pull-ups. I'm not sure who the anonymous donor was, but I wanted to say a big "thank you", to whomever generously gifted them! Yesterday we received a donation of cereals (corn flakes, wheat biscuits, rice puffs, etc). Unfortunately I wasn't around at the time, so wasn't able to say thank you in person. Whomever our cereal donor was, please kno...w that you are fantastic and your generosity hasn't gone unnoticed! Today we will be receiving donations from the lovely Roxanne who has been buying extras weekly to add to the Payne Street Pantry - Thank you in advance Roxanne, you are fabulous! If anyone is after lemons, you should be in luck this afternoon as I plan to raid my tree and will leave a basket of lemons in the pantryI also have a bay tree and rosemary, and am happy to provide fresh herbs to those who would like them. We have started something new at the Pantry recently; a jar & bottle repository! Locals can now share (clean & undamaged) jars, bottles & lids. If you're anything like me you probably have more than you need, or jars seeking lids, and lids seeking jars. Now we've got a place to help those lonely parts become one, and share our excess. If there are any other swaps or initiatives you would like to see at the Pantry please let me know below. If there is enough interest from others, we may be able to get them up and running. Our household produces a steady stream of veggie/fruit scraps and eggs shells, most goes into compost, but occasionally we have more than we can use. If anyone would like a small tub of scraps for their backyard chooks, please let me know

10.01.2022 Good evening folks My apologies for taking so long to let you all know of our changes. Basically we are now operating as a single entity, as we had prior to our temporary joining with the Portarlington Food is Free Laneway. We are still accepting non perishables and fresh produce, along with plants, seedlings, seeds, (clean) glass jars (with or without lids), unwanted gifts, etc.. If you have any questions please feel free to inbox the page and I will reply as soon as I am able to.

10.01.2022 Good afternoon folks, I hope you are all staying warm! Due to the wet weather we haven't had as many visitors, but we have had many donations, which have been wonderful! Many thanks to everyone who has dropped goodies over! We have had so many donations in fact, that we had begun to run out of space for everything so we've had to source a new cupboard with more space. Some doors on the new pantry are sticking a little, which I hope to fix over the coming week.... There are more foods & toiletries than I can remember, so instead of a list I wil share photos so you can see for yourselves! Along with non perishables, toiletries and some produce, we also have some plastic tubs with lids, donated by John at Pier Front Pizzeria. The tubs would make fantastic compost tubs/mini worm farms (see attached photos for examples). https://deepgreenpermaculture.com//build-a-worm-tunnel-ve/

08.01.2022 Good afternoon folks! I hope your week is off to a great start I completely forgot to mention yesterday that Celia has dropped some fantastic fresh rocket to the pantry. It is located in jars, in the bookshelf along with some lovely Kafir limes & leaves (many thanks to the gifter of those!). If you need something to transport fresh produce in, there are paper bags in the box with the toiletries. I will add more paper bags this week, along with a few feijoa, lemons and toilet paper.

07.01.2022 A massive Thank You goes out to Erin, who dropped a huge amount of food to the pantry today! There was more than I was able to fit, so I’ll be adding more as pantry items are taken. To the lady who was wondering about my green bike out the front, you are more than welcome to come and take it any time you like! The man who was Interested said he had a look today and it didn’t suit his needs

07.01.2022 Good afternoon folks, and what a beautiful day it is! Sun shining, birds singing and a lovely breeze it has me in the mood for spring cleaning! Speaking of spring cleaning, if you are doing a tidy up over the coming weeks and have non perishables, toiletries, books or unused/unwanted gifts, please consider rehoming them at the pantry. We would love your donations! So many thanks to the wonderful person who dropped off two bags of groceries to the pantry yesterday - you are ...amazing, thank you! We have some cans of baby formula here which are out of date. It would make a great replacement for regular powdered milk to aid inoculant sticking to your seeds. Aside from that I'm not sure what it would be good for. If anyone can use it please let me know. I had hoped to have some raised garden beds installed out the front for others to plant into, but unfortunately that plan has been put on hold as I am unable to cover the cost of the materials or the build at present. But it is still something I hope to do in the not too distant future! When visiting the pantry please remember to sanitize your hands, wear a mask, and practice social distancing. It's easy to become complacent with coronavirus cases dropping in regional Victoria, but with the holidays upon us and people moving around the state, we should remain vigilant. Until next time, have a wonderful day!

02.01.2022 Many thanks to the awesome community members who have already helped to restock the pantry! Here are some photos of what is on offer.

01.01.2022 Good evening folks It appears my posts have not been working over the past couple of weeks. My apologies! Hopefully this one works! So many thanks to those who have donated to the pantry over the past couple of weeks! And also to Celia from the Port Free Food Hut who has been sharing non perishables left at the hut
