25.01.2022 Exercising in nature is a great way to de-stress and keep healthy. It will be a good day weather wise to get out there. You might even see a dolphin if you are lucky!

24.01.2022 In case you werent aware, its the Paynesville Landcare Coastcare Group that coordinates the use of its volunteers on landcare management activities at the Paynesville Sunset Cove Walking Track, in collaboration with the East Gippsland Shire Council and the Gunaikurnai Land and Waters Aboriginal Corporation (GLaWAC), with funding support from the East Gippsland Catchment Management Authority and the Paynesville OP Shop.

23.01.2022 Getting out in nature is good for our brains, we perform better and it helps us to relax, even if it is a cold and wet day, youll feel better for it!

22.01.2022 Great day for a walk while the sun is out and little wind

22.01.2022 The picnic and playground area under construction at the Sunset Cove end of the track. Its looking good!

21.01.2022 A peaceful place for some exercise while social distancing....

16.01.2022 Works were still underway at the start of the track a few weeks ago to change the car park area. Must go for a ride and check it out today since the weather will be good. Will report back!

15.01.2022 Ok, so I didn't go for a ride and take photos yesterday. Someone did go for a long walk and took these. If you haven't walked past the pumping station at Backwater Court, just head west along the shore, past the bollard and follow the yellow track markers. You will be rewarded with great views down the Arm.

14.01.2022 Great day for a leisurely walk. Why not go past the pumping station and up the hill for a great view down the Arm.

13.01.2022 Yesterday was a great day for a ride along the track for some exercise. Came across some other bike riders from Newlands Arm.

12.01.2022 Precautionary Warning for Dog Owners: Users of the Paynesville Sunset Cove Walking Track should be aware that at present there are unconfirmed reports of dogs being poisoned in the vicinity. Prudent dog owners should keep their pets on a leash (as required by Council by-laws anyway) and be aware if they move off the track into the bush.

12.01.2022 Love this walk!

11.01.2022 A very social Paynesville walk today in the glorious spring sunshine! #thehappinesshunter #happinesshunters #thehappihunter #community #wellbeing #connection #walking #lifeintegration #iamhereandnow #paynesville @ Paynesville, Victoria

11.01.2022 Some works about to start at the playground area however access will still be available to the track.

09.01.2022 Wildlife on the track abounds, thanks for sharing!

09.01.2022 Just a quick reminder to watch where you are walking and not let dogs off lead to explore. Indeed dont let them explore in the grasses/bushes along the track as two separate sightings of snakes were reported today. There were 2 red belly blacks seen along Sunset Drive and a green snake was seen at the bench seat at the Point. There was even a snake off King Street recently so its not just bushland where we have to be observant!

08.01.2022 Part of the future extension of the track from Paynesville to Dawsons Cove in Newlands Arm.

07.01.2022 This will be a great day for a walk along the track so get out there while the weather is good!

07.01.2022 Our walking track is along the banks of Newlands Arm, a branch of Lake Victoria, part of the Gippsland Lakes. Come and find out the concerns about a proposed mineral sands mine only 350m upwind from the Mitchell River, part of the RAMSAR protected Gippsland Lakes.

06.01.2022 Its never too cold to enjoy a walk on the track!

06.01.2022 A big shout out to Russell Mullett from Glawac who joined Landcarers earlier this week at an event hosted by the East Gippsland Landcare Network at Eagle Point ...Bluff. Russell shared his knowledge about Gunaikurnai history and culture and the significance of the Gippsland Lakes to Traditional Owners, generously answering the multitude of questions thrown his way. This was the first cultural heritage information session that EGLN have hosted and judging by the turnout, therell be plenty more to come. #WonderLandcare #LearningWithLandcare Landcare Victoria, LANs, Local Aboriginal Networks - East Gippsland, Eastwood Landcare Group, Paynesville Sunset Cove Walking Track, Tambo Bluff Landcare Coastcare, BirdLife East Gippsland, East Gippsland Water Far East Victoria Landcare, Coastcare Victoria, Gippsland Ports

02.01.2022 Although we may be working from home at present, we thought that this would be a good opportunity to introduce you to, and show you some of the amazing work tha...t our groups have been doing throughout the EGLN network. Paynesville Landcare Coastcare Group works to protect natural areas within the Paynesville township. Theyre really proud of their core project: the development of the Sunset Cove Walking Track and rightly so! They have been working closely with the East Gippsland Shire Council and Glawac to create and improve the walking track from Paynesville to Newlands Arm. This walk will be called the Dinni Birraark walk. Take a look at these before and after shots that show their great work! If you want to find out more about the group, you can visit: Their facebook page: Paynesville Sunset Cove Walking Track Or email them at: [email protected]

02.01.2022 Get out there ....like these lovely people!
