21.01.2022 There is an incredible behind-the-scenes story of how JobKeeper was rolled out to the business community. Its a two minute read. The roll out time frames of JobKeeper had all the elements to challenge Australian payroll providers to the core and exposed the interconnectedness of the ATO, Paypac as a Digital Service Provider (DSP) and our essential suppliers like never before. The JobKeeper payment is the largest stimulus measure ever implemented in Australias history with... 6 million Australians expected to receive payments and well over 800,000 unique ABNs registering their interest. Ideally, the ATO would dedicate several months to building a project like JobKeeper but with a tight 6 week deadline, it is one of the biggest tasks the ATO, and therefore digital service providers (DSPs), have been faced with. https://www.absia.asn.au/news/dsp-response-jobkeeper/ The Paypac team had just over 2 weeks to ready ourselves and launch the JobKeeper scheme after the ATO finalised their specifications. We achieved 100% of our client deadlines. This was by no means an easy feat with many payroll specifications requiring case by case clarifications. The deadline of 8th May will go down as a watershed moment in Paypacs history. The coupling of our disciplined ISO27001:2013 and ISO9001:2015 controls, the commitment of our incredible team at Paypac to work long hours across weekends and the Easter break, and the steadfast relationships we have developed over the years with our partners and suppliers, enabled Paypac to continue to operate with NIL interruption. The JobKeeper scheme was incredibly important to roll out correctly for our clients, in a time frame our industry would not have thought possible any other time. Our greatest take is that the safety of our team was not challenged whilst achieving NIL interruption to payroll functions across our local, national and international client base. This included internally auditing our suppliers for their own business continuity capacity and keeping our JobKeeper eligible clients provided with constant commentary and support. One rare positive of Covid 19 is the remarkable resiliency for our businesses to respond so quickly and support each other. We look forward to working with you during the return to work process. From surviving to thriving, Paypac is dedicated to regrowing with you.

18.01.2022 The Fair Work Commission has announced a minimum wage increase of 1.75%, with changes coming into effect on one of three dates depending on which modern award covers the business. What you need to do next. Employers should review their current rates of pay and work out whether they will be impacted by the changes. If you pay at, or close to, the current minimum wage, then there may well be a need to increase rates of pay. Employers should remember that the Fair Work Act states that the base rate of pay paid to employees covered by an enterprise agreement cannot be less than the base rate of pay in the corresponding modern award, so there may well be a need to increase the wages of employees covered by an enterprise agreement too.

15.01.2022 Paypac is once again assisting our long-standing client Foodbank WA, with a Food Drive to help fight hunger this Christmas. This is our 10th year assisting Foodbank WA and over this time, we have donated 8 tonnes of food. Please help us to reach our goal of donating 10 tonnes of food in 10 years.... We are accepting egift cards again from Woolworths & Coles. Simply go online to buy an eGift voucher and have it emailed direct to Paypac at [email protected]. This is the easiest way to contribute and you could easily do an office deduction and then purchase the gift card rather than you having to go out and get the food yourselves for example: $10 per person donated directly out of wages to purchase the gift card and then we buy the food for you! Physical Food donations are also welcome contact us to find out how! None of this will be possible without you and your generous staff! We would like to thank you in advance for your support.
