21.01.2022 Last Saturday at Salks Function Centre at PBC Sports Club the PBC AFC held their 2020 Presentation Night. Around 120 people were in attendance from across the 3 sides. By the way, "who let the dogs out"? Also at the night were a few Western Bulldogs players led by "the Bont" as a couple of them had a family connection to the Club. The boys were well received by the crowd and also had a hand in proceedings. Thanks boys. Let's get into the Best and Fairest winners now, an...Continue reading

19.01.2022 Lions from Leo. Greetings all. On a postcard perfect Saturday morning the Palmy Footy Club caravan motored north to Bris Vegas to tackle the Morningside Panthers. With the senior Panthers side sitting 2nd on the ladder undefeated and our Lions 3rd with only the loss to Broadbeach by a single point, the main game was shaping up to be a hard fought contest. First to the Colts, and as always they got the round underway and our young Lions got off to a great start peppering...Continue reading

16.01.2022 The League Best and Fairest have just been released and a big congratulations to our dominant Colts. William Bella has taken out the Colts Best and Fairest for the league and Bronson Howard as the leading Goal Kicker. Our reserves fared well with Riley Engels taking out the Goal Kicking and finishing in the 6 in the Best and Fairest with Cooper Portelli polling well to finish second.... Tommy Thynne was Palm Beach's best finisher in the Grogan coming third to M Payne from Morningside. Lets support the Colts this weekend and see them bring home the premiership, dominate the Colts league in 2020 and displaying what the club has to look forward to in the future.

16.01.2022 PLAYERS: Change to Wednesday Night training location due to condition of the ground. We will now be training at Elanora Primary School - enter via Park Street off KP McGrath. 16.01.2022 MEDIA RELEASE Sunday 25th October 2020 2021 will see Palm Beach Currumbin with a new Senior Coach Jess Sinclair PBC coach for 2019 and 2020 has tendered his resignation from the role, and will step away to commit to his family and future business interests. Jess and his wife had their second son late in 2019 with various complications, and with their already five year old, time in the Sinclair home is precious.... Sinclair indicated that a senior coaching role for a club like Palm Beach requires over 25 hours a week in time and with a young family and work, this commitment becomes difficult. I am not someone who only puts in 50%, it is all or nothing, and I don’t want to let the club or my family down by trying to spread my time." Club President Anne Cornish stated that the club are disappointed to lose Jess for 2021, but totally understand his reasoning's. Cornish recalled that the club’s values focus on family, and support Jess in his future endeavors. Jess has indicated that his love for his new found Queensland Club would like to see him remain involved in some capacity to assist coaching staff as he cannot see himself without football in his life. Palm Beach Currumbin will commence recruitment of a Senior Coach immediately, and are confident that club can attract the right person to fit the successful club culture. ENDS

15.01.2022 Lions from Leo, Greetings all. On a day when expectations were high within all 3 playing groups, the club as a whole was split with two sides, Development Squad and Seniors playing at Morningside and our Colts playing at Broadbeach, all against the Panthers. Let's start with the Colts who earlier in the season had defeated the Panthers at their home ground. In a tense opening stanza both sides worked hard to gain an upper hand. On the scoreboard, behinds were the easiest to...Continue reading

15.01.2022 Lions from Leo Greetings all. With a forecast suggesting a possibility of wet weather last Saturday it was certainly a relief when the day remained dry. As our major car park behind the Sports Club has been fenced off for a few years for the M1 highway upgrade, the Gold Coast City Council allowed gates to be opened to the Rotary Park grounds behind the Football Club rooms for parking. A wet day would've seen the Council kybosh those plans, so it was a collective thank you ...Continue reading

15.01.2022 Lions from Leo. Greetings all. Woohoo, winners are grinners and never more so than last Saturday at Leyshon Park Yeronga when the final siren sounded at around 11-30 am! I should start at the beginning so here we go. It's QAFL Colts Grand Final day played between PBCAFC and Broadbeach AFC. Although the breeze at Yeronga would blow your dog off his chain the game got underway with the Cats kicking to the Brisbane River end against a 4 goal wind. Scoring was at a premiu...Continue reading

15.01.2022 Lions from Leo Greetings all, As I've said before "what a difference a week makes in footy". Of course i'm speaking here of our Senior side as our Colts and Development Squad both, had good wins against Morningside the other week. After the loss away at M/side and picking up a few more injuries to key players it was great to see our "big" boys bounce back with a solid victory against Mt Gravatt last weekend. Let's go with the Colts now, and a couple of their best performers...Continue reading

07.01.2022 Lions from Leo, greetings all, with only 7 sleeps 'Til Xmas I've been prowling around the Club keeping an ear open hoping to glean info re coaching appointments, player recruitment etc. I'm close, as is the Club, to making some big announcements. Stay tuned! A few weeks ago our Club lost a good bloke and mate. His passing has been celebrated, but for those that couldn't make his memorial or wake here's my eulogy to Dave. 06.01.2022 Lions from Leo, Greetings all. On a day more suited to flying kites than playing Aussie Rules our troops made the short trip north last Saturday to tackle the Labrador Tigers at Cooke-Murphy Oval. As usual our Colts got the days proceedings underway and despite the windy conditions both teams were playing a good standard of footy. With the home side more attuned with local knowledge of how to play their ground the Tigers skipped away to a handy 10 point lead at Qtr time. Th...Continue reading

03.01.2022 Lions from Leo, greetings all. While the season has been done and dusted for this year, the Club footy bus rolls along in first gear as preparations for 2021 start to build. As you are all aware our Senior Coach Jess Sinclair called time on his coaching tenure at our Club due to family and work commitments. I personally wish Jess, Chantelle, Mason and Sonny all the very best as they build their future together; Jess always spared time to talk club footy with me and I thank h...im greatly for that privilege. So , the process to appoint a new coach has commenced in earnest and I can offer good news and bad news on the subject. Bad news first. Not long after Jess's announcement two outstandingly well credentialed candidates for the coaching position were forced to forego the opportunity to come to Palmy. One has taken up a position coaching in the AFLW while the other candidate(who my spies tell me was a shoe in for the job) had to withdraw due to changes in his work situation in QLD. Bugga! Now the good news, and AFLQ report a massive interest in our vacant coaching position with enquiries off the chart. While we might have considered PBC to be a destination club it appears everyone in AFL circles knows it, and judging by a couple of applicants with AFL coaching experience wanting the job here at Palmy( can't name names as yet) let's just say, like "Big Kev" "I'm excited". But wait, there's more! I believe we have new recruits with top competition experience coming to the Club. Watch this space, when Leo knows, you'll all know! With the Golden Lions Lunch only weeks away now, do yourselves a favor and get a table together for what promises to be a ripper arvo in the lead up to Xmas. This happens on Sunday 29th Nov from 11-30 upstairs at the PBC Sports Club. For $50 per head for non members, you'll enjoy a 2 course lunch, beer, wine and soft drinks, door prizes, raffles and special guest, Comedian Christian Lutz who has appeared many times at the Melbourne Comedy Festival. Bookings are essential, not only for catering but to be COVID compliant on the day. Call or text Singo 0450974646 or Al Munn on 0418751799 to confirm your attendance for a great afternoon of fun, food, entertainment and a few frothies to boot! That's all from me, 'Til next time Leo

03.01.2022 Footy's Back. Pre season training will commence on Monday the 30th of November and run through until Wednesday the 16th of December Time 5.15pm for a 5.30 start. We are looking forward to seeing all our current players as well as anyone else who would like to come down and have a run with the lions. See you all at Salk oval Monday 30th

03.01.2022 LOCAL, LOYAL FAMILY - Palm Beach Currumbin are pleased to announce the re-signing of our 2018 premiership forward in Jack Anthony. Jack utilised the interrupted 2020 season to deal with some minor injuries and is looking trim, taught and very fit. 2021 will be Jack’s fourth year with the Lions, who is now considered a PBC LOCAL.... We look forward to seeing Jack up forward supported by some further recruits, soon to be announced. See more
