24.01.2022 Were glad to be safely back presenting in the flesh, working with RYDA Road Safety as part of their Road Safety Education program, facilitating the crash investigation model. This aims to give students an understanding of road safety, and that there are a number of factors that can cause an accident. PBF Safety Facilitator Jason McGregor explains Road Safety has an impact on everybody! As more people restart using the roads again and younger people start driving more and mo...re, I am pleased to be able to share my story and facilitate RYDAs Safe Systems Program to school age drivers Weve all been social distancing and keeping 2m apart from each other during the evolving COVID-19 situation, PBF suggests we extend this mentality to creating safer spaces between each car on the road as well! 21.01.2022 EBM is proud to be the recognised Insurance Broker for Paraplegic Benefit Fund Australia (PBF). PBF Australia was established to create greater awareness of the... risks of spinal cord injuries, with the aim of reducing the impact and incidence of spinal cord injuries in Australia. PBF provides its members with essential financial support should they sustain a permanent traumatic spinal cord injury; this is known as PBF’s member benefit fund. Paraplegia and quadriplegia are among the most expensive chronic injuries a person can face, said PBF Australia CEO Martin Browning. We have worked closely with EBM to identify suitable cover and to simplify the claims process so that benefit payments can be made as quickly after an injury as possible. This early payment can provide vital financial assistance so people can concentrate on their rehabilitation and return home as soon as possible. PBF Australia membership packages are available for individuals, sporting clubs and corporates. There is also the option to cover an individual sporting event Find out more about PBF at www.pbf.asn.au or click here to learn about one of PBF’s member benefit claims: https://bit.ly/32zM4Ef

Our presentation is evidence based and relates nicely to the level of the students or companies we talk to. 6. Is there a contribution or achievement youre most proud of being a part of at PBF? So far I think my greatest achievement is simply becoming part of the team. Its a position I have coveted for a while. 7. What most surprised you about the impact and incidence of spinal cord injury? I have done lots of things from being a TV presenter, a personal trainer, public speaking and owning my own wheelchair sales business. 14. Why do you think people should become members of PBF Australia? Living with a spinal injury is really expensive so the extra support PBF offers would be an amazing boost. 15. 04.01.2022 It is with great sadness that we share news of the passing of Matt Cook; he passed away peacefully on 12th November. He helped launch West Australia’s no-fault insurance program, featured in the RAC Bstreetsmart program and was involved in many PBF videos and events. Matt’s life change...d forever after a devastating car accident and he wanted to do everything possible to help others learn from his experience. In his own words Matt wanted young people to live responsibly and be aware of the potential consequences; the actions you take at this moment can influence the outcomes of your future. Matt was a much-loved and valued member of the PBF team. We will miss his smile and great sense of humour.

01.01.2022 PBF’s Darron Shields and Rob Croll recently shared their personal stories with around 130 Maroochydore Nippers, stressing the importance of awareness and injury prevention in the aquatic environment. Maroochydore Nipper captains, Oscar Starr-Thomas and Bonnie Jarrott thanked the guest speakers and encouraged questions from the audience. Hearing a message from a PBF presenter who has been injured through a water-based activity made all the attendees sit up and listen, said S...unshine Coast Councillor and Maroochydore Surf Lifesaving Director of Junior Activities, Jason O’Pray. Listening to the conversation and questions after the presentation, from not only the younger members but also their parents, I knew the PBF presentation from Rob Croll and Darron Shields had made an impact.
