25.01.2022 Heres a Fairfax editorial piece on why the medicare levy needs to rise to pay for the NDIS: "Like Medicare, the NDIS is fundamentally an insurance scheme. It ...funds services to the disabled by spreading their cost across the whole population. The levy is not a tax; rather, it is in effect the premium that all subscribers all Australian taxpayers, that means pay to gain this comprehensive insurance cover. Taxes can be progressive, redistributing money from the wealthy to the poor, but an insurance premium should not have that function. Everyone needs health insurance, which Medicare provides, because everyone has a body that may or may not become sick. Similarly, everyone may at some time in their life, early or late, acquire a disability and need continuing support from the NDIS. That universal human possibility justifies a universal obligation on all citizens to pay to insure against it." 05.01.2022 It is unfortunate but this happens all the time. Company Directors more than often know when they are going to go belly up and therefore the Directors start up new companies under a different name using family as Directors of those companies to continue trading and more than likely continuing to rip people off. We had a Court decision come down wholly in our favour with one "high profile "A" lister" builder but by the time the decision came down, hed gone into liquidation, owing many, many millions of dollars - but not before he opened up a couple of new companies using his own son as a Director and now continues to trade - and even has a face book page advertising their projects.
