24.01.2022 It doesn’t matter how old you are, bubbles make you feel good. They make people smile from the inside. Adding some fun elements to weddings can change the mood completely. What fun things did you have (or will you have) at your wedding?!
24.01.2022 I might sound old when saying this but as a kid I remember thinking about the year 2000 and it seemed so distant and futuristic. I used to watch a show called 'Beyond 2000' and I just couldn't imagine what life would be like. Now to think we are clicking over to 2020 just boggles my mind. Theres one day left of 2019 and Im feeling nostalgic and excited because I know 2019 was good to me and 2020 is full of new possibilities. In the pas...t 12 months, I was published in multiple magazines, worked alongside @mamadisrupt on epic covers, photographed over 100 families, 20 weddings, dance schools, multiple content shoots and all while raising three beautiful children! I am not saying it's all been easy. There have been loads of moments I've needed support and help from those I treasure. 2020 will be the first time in 9 years of business where I have three school aged children. I will be able to work my little business within normal hours and the late night editing marathons will become 9am to 3pm missions. I can focus solely on my goals when they're at school and spend quality family time when they're all home. It will be a little sad to move through this faze but also exciting to watch my little one move onto new adventures and for me to have a little more freedom of time as well. So the new year can encourage reflection and goal setting. I like to think I am doing this all through the year but Dec 31st is a good excuse to pause and think. 22.01.2022 I'm not sure if you know this about me, but I was once a school teacher. Having my three kids at home, I have gone into over-drive with the learning opportunities that can be found amidst the weird times we find ourselves in. Over the coming weeks, instead of posting photos of previous shoots from the "olden days" (two weeks ago), I thought I would give a little insight to what I am doing with my family. You might even feel inspired to learn along with us. If so, I would love... you to post and share your children's work here with me! I can share it with my kids too. Task one was to write a survival guide for kids, in relation to what's going on in the outside world. On completion of task one, we decided to turn my youngest into a kind of apocalyptic super hero. My 11 year old wanted to design a costume (I will post the design later). Then, we decided to take a photo of her in it. Task two: Design a costume for each of the survival tips. This task itself has provided so many rich opportunities for discussions. Each day, we talk about a survival tip and discuss opinions with an open heart and with a little humour mixed in. I believe learning that connects to the real world is THE most powerful form of education there is. Do you agree? This is how the "Kids Survival Guide" and a journal of me "Parenting the Apocalypse" was born. Here's our tip one.

For me in my personal life, Im trying to go to bed earlier and be more rested (its crazy season for a photographer so self care is more important than ever). My family goals are to attend all my kids celebrations and performances as their school year comes to a close. 16.01.2022 I have to apologise Facebook friends... I have not been very active on here. To tell you the truth, I've been putting all my post energy into the Instagram basket and poor old Facebook has taken a hit and I havent wanted to carbon copy the same content. I am here to make a pledge that I will be better in 2020. A very early new years resolution is to find my Facebook groove yet again. I am 100% grateful for all of your love and support throughout this last year from you all.... 13.01.2022 True acts of kindness can be seen right now and its coming from people who have no spotlight on them. The teachers who are going above and beyond, neighbours looking out for each other, and businesses offering free resources. We must remember who they are when all of this passes. As individuals we can lead the way in showing kindness and love during tough times and in doing so, teach our children how to be great humans. ... The learning activity for my children attached to this tip is to think of someone who has shown selflessness and kindness in their life. My four year old has been asked to draw a picture of this person and talk about them. My 11 and 13 year old have been asked to write a note of appreciation to this person. I am also going to complete both activities and we will share our work over dinner tonight. If you would like to join along, feel free to post a picture of what your children are working on. 06.01.2022 I'm really not a lover of setting new years resolutions. I find my goal posts change too frequently and by mid January, I'm already feeling differently to the mood that surrounded me on the first day of the year. Instead, I'm trying to be more connected to myself moment to moment, and allow life to deviate and swerve when required. This is why I've never niched my photography business. I enjoy variety too much.... My usual week might comprise of a newborn shoot one day, an editorial the next, family portraits to follow, a content shoot or two, finishing with a wedding on the weekend. I thrive on the variety, the diverse locations and the people I'm lucky enough to meet. So although I'm not a setter of New Years resolutions, I'm ready for work to continue to flow in this way. I thank all of the beautiful families I've been photographing over the holidays. I truly adore capturing holiday memories for those who have been lucky enough to travel to Noosa with their loved ones. I live in hope that I will be active on social media, but who knows? My energy for posting goes in ebbs and flows. Rest assured, I am always working hard and my focus is firmly on you... my past, current and future clients, friends and colleagues.

05.01.2022 It's been a crazy couple of months. Working throughout November and December with only four days off in total, I decided to take a couple of nights away with my family. At the start of my trip, my car had other plans, breaking down a couple hours from home and needing a tow. This turned a couple of days into five nights and I had no work with me. No computer. 04.01.2022 True acts of kindness can be seen right now and it’s coming from people who have no spotlight on them. The teachers who are going above and beyond, neighbours looking out for each other, and businesses offering free resources. We must remember who they are when all of this passes. As individuals we can lead the way in showing kindness and love during tough times and in doing so, teach our children how to be great humans. ... The learning activity for my children attached to this tip is to think of someone who has shown selflessness and kindness in their life. My four year old has been asked to draw a picture of this person and talk about them. My 11 and 13 year old have been asked to write a note of appreciation to this person. I am also going to complete both activities and we will share our work over dinner tonight. If you would like to join along, feel free to post a picture of what your children are working on.
