24.01.2022 This weeks write up by Pricey Round 4 saw the mighty Pickering Brook Roos head to North Swan oval in Middle Swan to take on the Mandurah Makos. It was an epic contest in sunny but windy conditions with the Roos maintaining their supreme form by notching up their fourth draw in a row. The game started well for Pickering Brook with Benny, Pricey, Foxy and Josh dominating the first few clearances, until the Makos realised that Benny only has one ruck tap and started to shark a f...ew which saw them fight back onto equal footing. That was before Fieldsy stepped up and seemed to be at, and winning, every contested mark and ground ball for a dominating BOG performance. Foxy ran hard all day and gave away a record number of holding the ball free kicks, including one where he was rolled by all of 150 kgs of a Mako full forward Im sure there is still his imprint in the ground at the eastern end of North Swan oval. Ollie demonstrated he has lost none of his skill and guile, he fooled the ump once when he aped Jack Newnes and ran from the back pocket to the forward pocket claiming he was the closest player to an out on the full decision to take the kick. But he didnt get away with his second ruse claiming he had kept the ball in during a steaming run down the wing to be fair he was in the field of play, but it was the adjacent field some 7 m away from the one we were playing on, nice try Ollie. Momentum swung back and forth during the game but the backline remained stoic throughout, with newby Trevor earning a move to full forward which resulted in him attempting to channel Liam Flyin Ryan to take mark of the year, only for him to nearly kill the Makos full back with a knee to the back of the head free kick Makos, sorry about that. And then with the game on the line in the dying minutes Pricey courageously went back with the flight of the ball, and with eyes only for the footy took a strong mark, only to be denied by the umpire who didnt see it that way. the outrage remains palpable. Great game all round, great day three votes Pricey.

23.01.2022 Thanks to everyone who played masters this season. I hope everyone enjoyed the games. A few of the guys would like to train this Thursday still, so if you are keen let me know and we will. We need at least 12 players at training to make it worthwhile. Along with the presentation night on Friday 6/11, we will have a Silly Saturday on 10/10. Pricey is working on that and will put forward a plan shortly.

23.01.2022 We are playing this Sunday against The Pigs at Ferndale Park, 9.30am start. Be there half an hour before. Please let me know if you will be available. 23.01.2022 This weeks write up by Pricey The sun was out, the wind was blowing hard and the Roos blowing even harder as they notched up another commanding draw. North Fremantle Oval was the venue, and the Central Crocs the worthy adversary. The Roos started well with Pricey snagging a clean centre clearance and setting up Veitchy with what was to be the first of many lace out passes he received throughout the game. The Roos clearly had an advantage throughout the first term with the Fr...eo Doctor in full swing with goals from all of the big guns, Fieldsy, Fatty and Veitchy. Momentum changed in the second term as we battled against the wind, Phil worked tirelessly in the ruck, strategically losing every tap to provide their midfield with a sense of false confidence. The backline, Fitzy, Glenn,Reece and others battled manfully, but some long goals with the wind brought the Crocs back to level pegging. The second quarter did produce the game highlight however with Pricey and Billy teaming up to give Pricey a clear goal of the day contender. Two votes Billy, three votes Pricey. Back with the wind again in the third and the Roos midfield started to get on top, Foxy had a Matera-esque run down the wing, four bounces in the space of 15 m, before nailing a bullet pass off the side of his boot and out of bounds. Clatty nailed the first of his several behinds, Veitchy continued his dominance on the way to a four goal haul and Fitzy attempted a 60 m checkside from the boundary which sailed through only centimetres wide. A third term rev up from Billy saw one final push from the Roos in the last, four goals was the cry from our diminutive man of motivation. Clatty kicked several more behinds, mostly from 20 m out directly in front, Vinnie, Fieldsy, Foxy and Dylan continued to feed the ball forward, but alas we fell short of the four goal haul we so desired. Cheers to Boodge Huntley and Dyl for filling in, another sensational game of footy, see you all on Friday for dinner at the club.

21.01.2022 We are playing this Sunday 11.15am at North Swan oval (Midvale) vs Mandurah. Let me know if you will be playing.

21.01.2022 Training will be on Thursday This weeks write up care of Pricey Well..after a season of hard fought draws we probably should’ve finished a week early. The final game of the season surprisingly ended with an official nil all score line, but truth be told it was a fair shellacking.... The Roos started the game short on players (does anyone know where Clatty is??) so we were glad to have Nathan fill in from the previous game. As it turns out he was probably our best player for the day. The first quarter was a disaster with Pricey, Foxy and Sorge simply unable to get their hands on the ball despite the efforts of Trev in the ruck. The pace and fitness of the Brentwood Booragoon Bulldogs simply too much to handle. The backline battled manfully, but the supply was too good and too often and the Bulldogs got off to a flyer. The second quarter wasn’t much better, although Craig Maynard pulled off a beauty, burning Foxy who was metres in the clear and snapping from 40 m. The ball landed 10 m out and took a ripping bounce to give us our first goal of the game. The Roos fought back in the 3rd, Pricey threw himself in the forward line to stop himself throwing up in the midfield, nailing a soda from 5 m out when the Bulldog full back dropped a sitter receiving a massive cheer from the Fitzgerald clan bogans behind the goal (nice pass Fitzy). Fieldsy was seconded into the midfield in an effort to get him into the game, which finally provided the Roos with a few scrappy clearances. The last quarter was much like the first two, with the Roos clearly thinking more about the post-game frothy than the game. Such is life, great game by the Bulldogs, played in good spirit as always. Thanks to the association for managing to put a fixture together despite everything, and thanks to the Roos for making it such an enjoyable season time to enjoy some post season piss.

21.01.2022 Training is on Wednesday night 6.30pm. Remember to bring along your own drink bottle. Hope to see you there!

16.01.2022 Pickering Brook vs The Western Whalers and Rockingham. On a historical day for Pickering Brook, we hosted our first Masters carnival with 6 enthralling games being played across the day, all ending in tight draws! The rain was coming in side ways and the temperature might have reached double figures if you were lucky enough to be near a patio heater on the verandah, but not for the brave warriors who walked out onto George Spriggs Reserve. We played 2 games across the day and... welcomed into the club a few new players. Jamie, Stu (hope he remembers that he played), Macca and Olli who kept the tradition going of first gamers kicking a goal with their first kick for the club! I wont do a report of both games, instead here is a list of highlights (and lowlights) across both games. Vinnies long bomb for goal. Glens attempt at goal kicking resulting in a 2 metre short pass to Macca. Big Della squeezing back into a jumper, Fieldsy collecting a total of 58 possessions across the 2 games. Ben Hayward walking slowly out of the backline only to be tackled and done for holding the ball. He later had a chance to redeem himself by kicking the winning goal, but missed resulting in us having another draw! Reece and Fatty who controlled the back line. Special mention to Phil, who still thinks he is forward but remains the rock at full back. Macca actually played. Mick guilders goal from the pocket. Priceys 0 hard ball gets on the wing. Fitzy, Jamie and Clatty getting a game together for the first time in 15 years. Fatty politely declining the opportunity to play on the ball, after waiting 15 years to have the opportunity to play on the ball! I know there were plenty more but my notes got too wet to read so sorry if I missed anyone. Im sure we will all talk about them at training on Thursday. A big thankyou to all who contributed throughout the day.

16.01.2022 Another blast from the past PB Roos 93 or 94

15.01.2022 The wind up this year will be on Friday 6th November at The Vault. Keep the date free. This will include the Hawks and the Roos. There will be a limit of 100, so when we release tickets make sure you get in early. Cost and all details will be announced once finalised.

15.01.2022 Some pictures of training last night. It was a cold one but a good loosener for those who could get on the track after the weekends games. Special mention to Ben Haywood who thought training in sneakers after 50mm of rain was a good idea and almost doing an ACL, a hamstring and a groin in one drill.

14.01.2022 We are back, See below. It is vital that all players now get registered. I will send through the link Please share the below dates with your members ASAP. All dates provided are proposed and are reliant on State and Federal Government restrictions supporting our participation numbers.... Season 2020 PROPOSED Resumption of Games & Key Dates: South West 4Th July Metropolitan 12th July Mid-West, Eastern & Northern Country TBC with consultation of Clubs and Board Country Carnival (Held in Perth) September 12th South West Carnival (Held in Busselton) September 27th Team nominations and hosting of fixtures: A Board representative will be in contact in the coming days to discuss with Presidents. A reminder that all practice matches between clubs must be sanctioned. Once the Board has sanctioned your practice match, a fixture will be generated in SportsTG and a team sheet must be created and finalised as per normal season. This will allow for tracking of all participants as per current Government requirements. Please contact to discuss if you have any concerns. To sanction a game, simply send an email with all game details to administrator email. Any intra-club scratch matches are managed by clubs internally and should include a register of participants attending as is the case with all training sessions. 07.01.2022 Anyone out there got their senior first aid and can help out with the first 2 games tomorrow?

07.01.2022 Game report Roos vs phantoms 12/7 The sun was out and it was great to finally be able to go and run around the oval chasing the ball, in our first Masters game of 2020. Makes me glad we dont live in Melbourne! We welcomed a couple of new players into the team, Nick and Reece who both played very well. It is good that we finally have some genuine smalls in the team. Unfortunately we lost a couple of players who injured themselves at training on Thursday night. Dylan who pop...ped his shoulder and Jamie tweaked his hammy on the eve of his long awaited debut. Hope you both get up for the next game! We won the toss and elected to kick right of screen. The Fremantle Phantoms came out with a physical brand of football and had our backs under immense pressure right from the start, but we held firm with Fatty and Veitchy providing valuable run and strong kicking out of defence. Big Ben started in the ruck in the absence of Arnie who was dropped to the league team. Our Mids started to make their way into the game with Claty using this game as his pre season. Kane sat on the wing but was missing his usual flair, after being towelled up in the father kids game by his own son. Pricey tried hard all day until he decided to head butt a clearance kick from Foxy in the middle. Adam was his usual self, picking up 20+ touches. Courtz lasted 1 quarter at full forward and after kicking a goal said he was done and walked off. We worked hard to get back into the game with solid contributions from our other forwards, with Q proving to be a good target. Unfortunately Sorg and Craig also proved to be good targets off the ball. Enough said, back to the positives. Barbie! The enigama! Kicked the ball 2 metres along the ground and still claimed it as a stat. While Robbie took a 50m penalty and kicked truly to get us back into the game. With Phil and Kouta helping out in the ruck, Ben was able to get forward and kick a couple of snags as well. When the final siren went I was surprised as anyone to find out the scores were tied, so the group decision was to find the beer tent and tell each other how good we once were! Thanks to Macca for helping out and Mick Guilders for his awesome video. Next game is 26/7 at Ferndale Park 9.30am against the Pigs. Hope to see you all there. See more

05.01.2022 If someone can help out with a meal for us on Thursday night, let me know. Will need to be for about 20 people. We will be sharing with the league team who will also provide a meal. Thanks

04.01.2022 We had a new challenge this week, playing under lights on Friday night. We eagerly arrived at the new Harrisdale oval and found our change rooms under water, so with half the team changing in the car park and the rest of us finishing our after work beers, we were well prepped to take on Rossmoyne. The largest crowd we had played in front of had assembled by the start of the game and with some expert commentary over the PA, it looked like it was going to be a cracker of a game..., and it was. We welcomed back our full forward, Courts who surprised everyone and played the whole game, jumping into packs and causing havoc for the poor Rossmoyne backs. In fact all our forwards had a great night. Glen was taking one handed marks and even claiming marks at the back of the pack that 4 people had touched before he caught it. Neil forgot that he couldnt see at night and slotted one from the boundary right on quarter time. Second quarter and Ollie fired up and had a belter on the wing collecting 15 outside touches. Ben started to take control of the backline even after the oppositions half forward managed to head butt his fore arm in a powerful marking competition. After the half time break, Mick Guilders worked the board throwing Fatty in the middle and Sorge up forward. Fatty kicked a long bomb from the middle, strait through for a behind but did enough of a celebration to convince the umpire it was a goal. Pricey worked hard to put a great spoil on in the goal square, double fisting the ball strait to the opposition who couldnt believe his luck and kicked a goal. After another classic Billy rev up at three quarter time we came out firing. Veitchy went forward this quarter and kicked a solid goal. Vinnie had a blinder while poor Craig was once again counting stars on the side lines. Fields bought his own ball along with another BOG performance. The siren sounded the game ended and the lights went out! Total darkness! In the confusion no one could see the score board so the game was declared a draw. We swam into the change rooms, got changed and found the beers where it was decided we will collectively tell everyone how good we once were, again! Thanks To Keith for filling in for us as well. See more

02.01.2022 It’s not going to be as dry as this tomorrow but looking forward to hosting our first round of the #aflmasters. Ground looking great.

02.01.2022 Round 2 An early morning start greeted us for round 2 as we took on a formidable opponent in the form of the Vic Park Pigs. The game was played at Ferndale on what would have to be the biggest oval in WA. We welcomed in Fieldsy for his first game for the club and Arnie, Neil, Dylan and Josh for their first game of the season. The first quarter was a dogs breakfast for us as we struggled with the wet, slippery conditions and half a team who had yet to have woken up. Arnie in t...he ruck managed to feed the ball directly to the opposition as our midfield looked more like witches hats, put out by the coach for a training drill. This was compounded by the back line practising good social distancing practise by playing well behind their opponents. No one catching covid here lads! The highlight of the quarter was Fieldsy marking on the siren and kicking his first goal from 50 metres out. Unbelievable the opposition let the ball roll over the line untouched. Second quarter and we finally started to win some ball with Pricey, Millsy, Adam and Kane winning clearances and running hard forward, where Kouta started to find some space and taking some solid marks. We went into half time with scores level again. Macca decided to shuffle some magnets on the board and we started the third quarter with a different look back line. It didnt work! Barbie went back to non contact football and did it exceptionally well. Josh showed everyone why he likes to play as a forward and I think Phil was wishing that he was playing in the ruck again rather than full back. When we finally got the ball forward, Dylan had a great snap on goal and was busy hi fiving everyone as the ball sailed into the point post. Bit of a premature celebration but at least we scored. 3 quarter time and with another inspirational speech from Bill (who had written this on his sock) we went out and played our best quarter for the game. Arnie managed to tap the ball in the general direction of our players and Courts left the goal square for the first to take some big marks and kicked truly. Campy and Glen created opportunities and Fields and Pricey finished the good work with some more snaggers. We ended up snatching an exciting draw, right on the siren. A great game of masters football, well done to all. See more
