24.01.2022 This is also a shot I took in the Adelaide Botanical Gardens one beautiful December day. The thing I love about photographing flowers is that you don't always need to capture the whole flower to make it interesting! I love this shot <3 What do you think?

24.01.2022 M is for Macro: I always knew I loved macro photography - the style of getting close to the subject as possible. It wasn't until a sunny afternoon in Greece that I realised how much I love photographing bees though. While this shot wasn't taken on that fateful day, this was also taken in Greece, and is one of my favourites from an afternoon shoot with a friend taken while we were getting some shots in a clients' lavender field. Needless to say, I was almost as busy as this little guy, chasing around all the bees to shoot as close as I could while my friend was actually on the job :) Comment below and tell me your favourite type of macro shot or coloured flower and I'll see what I have in my collection to dedicate tomorrow's photo to you!

23.01.2022 My first official overseas shoot! To prepare for Nancy and Niko's Wedding in Greece, we went out to snap a few shots in the lead up to their wedding day :)

23.01.2022 Doesn't this colour just brighten your day? This is a shot taken in Mt Gambier on Christmas eve in 2017. I love how well the green and the pink set each other off!

22.01.2022 Excited to get back into shooting headshots and a great way to kick it off this financial year with Catalyst Cloud Solutions and some fresh clicks! Thanks to the team for being a great group to work with. Heres a sneak peak of some of the shots we got If anyone is looking for accounting made easy with cloud based storage, I highly recommend giving Scott, Kristen and the team a call! Of course if you or someone you know needs a new headshot remember to think of me too

21.01.2022 Have you ever seen a Hydrangea before its flower is fully grown? There is something so peaceful and youthful about looking into the bright colours and watching it as it opens. Did you know that the colour of the flowers can change depending on the pH of the soil? I love how responsive this plant is to its conditions. Do you have a favourite flower, colour or scenery? Leave me a comment and l can find something in my albums to dedicate my next post to you!

21.01.2022 A busy bee in my backyard :)

20.01.2022 This beautiful shot came from December 2017 chasing bees around the Lavender in the Adelaide Botanical Gardens. When things get a bit tough, or feeling a bit stressed, I find chasing these little guys so relaxing and enjoyable. It really is the simple things sometimes that make life wonderful!

19.01.2022 Just set up and ready to go at the UniSA Research team Christmas Markets celebration in Yungondi building!! Such great vibes down here and excited to be amongst it!

18.01.2022 A super fun afternoon at the UniSA Magill Campus French Day festivities :) the music was sensational and the cyclist was a scream and really boosted the atmosphere

18.01.2022 No matter how you say it, the Bougainvillea is one of my favourite flowers. I absolutely love the shapes and textures you can get from them when they are loved and cared for regularly. It is one of the most common flowers I have seen in pretty much every country I have travelled to as well! Intersting fact about these flowers is the flower is actually the tiny yellow part you can see here - the colour around it are just leaves (specifically known as 'bracts' to bottanists). This is a shot a captured in Turkey on the treck up a mountain side :)

17.01.2022 Spring A group of native bees were buzzing lazily around these cute little flowers from some oriental Asian greens I had in my garden. I really enjoyed chasing them around with my macro lens the afternoon I took this shot.

17.01.2022 These guys really know how to have fun and how to hold a reunion! After barely seeing each other since high school, it was a pleasure and honour to be in Sweden with an old friend Travis for his wedding to Edith. It was even bigger to have been asked to be their photographer on the day. A huge congratulations to Edith and Travis! Wishing you both a long life of love and happiness and I look forward to seeing you both soon :)

16.01.2022 A month ago we celebrated the beautiful wedding day of Amanda and Phil Rice! Congratulations on your first month of married life, and here are a few of the highlights to share from the day! I'm sure everyone will agree it was a fantastic day and I certainly had a nice time photographing and getting to know these guys :)

16.01.2022 M is for Marina Taking you back to a Saturday afternoon in 2016 at Glenelg. I was waiting specifically for Golden Hour (jjust before sunset when the sun gives off this brillian light) to get this shot.I was really hoping to capture athe brilliance in the colours of the water and the contrast in the rust. That day was so similar to today; clear skys, the air was still and it was calming to be outside.... A week into this project, thank you for following, for linking and commenting! Keep the suggestions coming if you would like to see a particular theme :)

16.01.2022 Thanks Nour for suggesting this one for me. This is a photo I shot in the Adelaide Botanical Gardens a few years ago. A lovely friday morning and I was fortunate enough to have the day off work so I treated myself to a walk through the gardens. In such lovely weather it didn't take long before I was immersed in flower beds and up close and personal with some of these lovely ladies. Fun fact - a worker bee can carry up to half her body weight in pollen, usually stuffed into pollen baskets in their back legs! Tomorrow I'll find another photo that shows off more bees hard at work. Remember to comment if you want to see something in particular :)

16.01.2022 Here's one for you Nicole Vincent! This shot takes me somewhere out of this world. It was taken during golden hour first thing in the morning by on the east coast. It was so still and peaceful I don't know what it is that draws me in, but I absolutely love this shot! Keep the suggestions coming if you would like to see something in particular :)

15.01.2022 What better way to spend a public holiday than with friends and on the water in a kayak. I was only a few meters away from these gorgeous pelicans when I took this. It was so nice that pass them so closely and get a few sneaky shots. This shot was taken in the waters surrrounding Hindmarsh Island during a visit to Tammie and her lovely family.

15.01.2022 Sunday was a perfect day for a BBQ in the park, but what better way to do it than with the whole community?! That's definitely what these guys did and it was a huge hit with all ages. Whether it was playing ball on the court, sitting in the shade of the big tree or dancing to some greek music, I think it is fair to say everyone had a nice time; I certainly enjoyed photographing them. Here is one of the group shots I got :)

13.01.2022 Today was such a lovely day to visit the Adelaide Botanical Gardens for a shoot :) #Nikond750 #macro #summer #nature

13.01.2022 Like many small businesses, it's hard to service clients at the moment, but it is a perfect opportunity to get back to my roots and focus on the beauty of our world, before it got complicated. Project: M is for Monday is the start of a new project, at the start of a new week, the first Monday of the month. A new start; a new journey. Join me on the journey as I post a photo a day and share the story behind the photo that began it all! ... Please comment and keep the conversations going. Recommend themes or ideas you'd like to see and I'll delve back through my archives and see if I can find something to brighten your newsfeed!

11.01.2022 A few short months ago, I had the joy of photographing a beloved friends wedding in Greece, Nancy and Nikos. Their day was nothing short of amazing and these photos really speak for themselves! . . ! Tasis !

11.01.2022 Last week I had the pleasure of dining with Alex and Athanasia, a beautiful couple which I had the honour of photographing earlier this year. I didn't want to share anything on facebook before giving it to the couple because they don't have pages to tag them in! I am really excited to be able to share a few highlights with you all now too!

09.01.2022 A huge congratulations to Brian Zhi Xian Goh who graduated his undergrad on Tuesday! It was an honour to be there to celebrate the day with him in such a special way. Thank you for making me a part of it and good luck with your move and career progression in Melbourne! Here are just a few of the shots I captured on the day :)

08.01.2022 Also taken in the summer of 2017 in Mt Gambier, this shot is another from when I was experiementing with taking different angles and the power of not necessarily having to capture the whole flower to have impact. Aside from the brilliant colour of this rose, the thing I love about it is how sharp and crisp the petals in the centre are!

08.01.2022 This shot is about as local as you can get - coming to you right from my back yard! This bee is absolutely beautiful and you can really see the pollen baskets I was talking about yesterday on her back leg. A beautiful example of a bee doing what she does best. We have so much to be grateful for from bees as they collect pollen and nectar; as they go from flower to flower, pollen sticks on their body and rubs off onto other flowers causing cross pollindation and results in much of the fresh produce we eat. This flower was in my veggie patch too!

07.01.2022 M is for Me. This is me; I am an Adelaide based photographer, born and raised in Mount Gambier. My passion for photography really boomed in 2014, starting with all kinds of nature and landscape photography when I bought my first DSLR. I can't wait to share my journey with you

07.01.2022 Day three of the photo challenge, nominated by Josh Here, "Post one photo every day for seven days without people or buildings and nominate other people on those days"

06.01.2022 M is for Morning! Good morning indeed - this photo was taken at sunrise in Wollongong. I climbed down the cliffside to the breakwater underneatht the lighthouse. I was so excited to go shooting this particular morning I got up before dawn and ran down to the coast to catch the first rays of light; totally worth it don't you think!

06.01.2022 Keeping with the theme of the beginning of new things, this is one of my all time favourite photos and I actually took it on the first day I went out shooting with my first DSLR. A friend and I went out to shoot by the coast and we spent the afternoon jumping over rocks to take photos of rocks, sticks, flowers and any interesting texture we could find. Before we knew it, we had spent all afternoon shooting. On the way back to our cars we walked past some amazing boats. It happened to be right at golden hour and this was one of the amazing shots which availed themselves to me in that moment; a combination of beginners luck and mad skill ;)

04.01.2022 Just before Christmas I had the pleasure of travelling to Melbourne for my first interstate wedding of Denise and Jordan! These guys really know how to throw a party and was really cool to work with my brother from another mother and partner in crime Achilles Prinos Here is just a small selection from across such a special day. Congratulations to Denise and Jordan, wishing you both all the love and best wishes in the world!

04.01.2022 Speaking of falling in love with Macro photography - while this shot isn't a macro shot per se, it is a shot taken on the fateful day I mentioned yesterday when I fell in love with shooting bees. Yes - this shot was also taken in Greece. Just outside of Aridaia (not too far from where my grandmother was born actually). This particular sunny July afternoon, I was shooting with two of my good friends who were showing me around. This shot was taken just before sunset and I was ...waiting specifically for the sun to hit the mountain top to cast some beautiful rays that are just beginning to show themselves in the clouds. Thanks to mum for recommending the sunflowers :) Helen Andrinopoulos If you have been following my journey and are interested in seeing something in particular, remember to leave me comment below! Pick a colour, flower, theme and lets see what I can find!
