16.01.2022 We are now getting to the pointy end of out IPE tour, with the horse draw tonight, trials tomorrow and Nations Cup on Thursday. In the meantime, here is another update on what we have been up to the last few days, which have been filled with so much it is hard to know where to start. Sunday was a rest day but the team decided to head to Ocean Park for a bit more adventure on the rides and checking out some pandas. ... Monday morning we travelled to Lo Wu Saddle Club for some hacking out and getting to know some of the horses. Coaches and team managers hiked up to the border of Hong Kong and China while the riders took the horses out. It was pretty special to be able to stand on top of a hill and see China on one side and Hong Kong on the other. In the afternoon we travelled to the HK Museam of Natural History, followed by the a trip to the night markets where we got to develop our haggling/bartering/bargaining skills and finding a few gifts for those left at home Today we had an absolute ball hiking from Saikung Country Park down to the ocean, and spending the day relaxing at the beach, swimming in some rock pools and generally checking out the scenery. We then had a wild ride home in a speed boat ready for the quiz tonight. We are being so incredibly well looked after, and have had the opportunity to experience so much in only 10 days it will be quite a shock when we all head home. Looking forward to the next few days which will be all horses....

11.01.2022 It's on - Today is the day! Nations Cup first round starts at 8.30 this morning. Horses were picked yesterday. We have drawn some nice ones, and some tricky ones but our Aussie riders really stepped up and did a great job getting the best out of them considering 3 out of the 4 girls have been struck with a very nasty flu going through the teams.... Irrelevant of that we are all looking forward to the competition and can't wait to get out there and give it our best shot. See more
