24.01.2022 Winter is here! The water temperature has dropped and the ocean is rough but summer is not too far away! Over the next few weeks we will be running a photo series, Coralee Askew and Raelene Wicks have put together a selection of their favourite pictures they have taken throughout the years. To start the series off the photo below has been taken by Coralee Askew, 'One of first photos I have of PCSLSC - Kurrawa 2010'... If you have any photos of club either at competition, at nippers or at an annual dinner that are memorable send them through and we will add it to our series in the lead up to summer!

18.01.2022 Today is the kick off of National Volunteer Week, the annual celebration to acknowledge the generous contribution of our nation’s volunteers. To help recognise ...this and the outstanding contribution of our volunteers, we will be sharing a post a day to highlight the voluntary work completed within the lifesaving community. For the first day of National Volunteer Week, we’d like to acknowledge the Club Committees of Management members, who are key to an organisation’s operations and ensure their members can enjoy the wonderful programs. Within Victoria’s 57 life saving clubs, there are 500+ leadership personnel who fill roles like president, secretary, treasurers, club captains, gear officers, chief instructors, team managers, junior coordinators, member protection officers and many more. Without these dedicated individuals our members would not enjoy the fantastic experiences each and every day. Thank you to all our dedicated Club Committee Members for your contribution to lifesaving. #NVW2020

12.01.2022 Good evening everyone! Firstly, a massive congratulations to our Under 19 surf boat crew, the Selkies, who took out gold at the VSRL Open last Saturday! They will represent Victoria at the ASRL Open in Mollymook at the beginning of March. All of the girls and their sweep Voges help out at Nippers, so be sure to give them congratulations when you see them on the beach! A little PSA that the Nippers that was scheduled for Saturday the 30th of January has been moved to Sunday th...e 31st, to accomodate for the VSRL carnival occuring at Anglesea on the Saturday, in which a majority of our age managers and water safety will be competing. The Nipper team and I apologise for this inconvience, and we can confirm that this will be the last change to our schedule. A physical notice will be available this Saturday from the Age Managers. Hope everyone has a great week! Tate Tregea-Copeland Junior Coordinator

11.01.2022 Throughout the last week, we concentrated on a different area of our organisation, highlighting our volunteer's dedication to our movement each day. However, we... cant p'ossibly capture all the roles across one week and today is about the unsung heroes. Therefore, to those that don’t take on a role, but instead go out of their way to give back to the community by helping at events, fundraising for their local club or simply flipping sausages on a BBQ, we say thank you to each and every one of our 38,000+ volunteers. If you or anyone else has been inspired by some of the posts this week, we encourage you to head to the below link and consider joining one of our Life Saving Clubs: https://lsv.com.au/clubs-m/support/join-a-life-saving-club/

10.01.2022 Life Saving Victoria is urging people to take water safety seriously following a spate of fatal drownings along the Victorian coast yesterday afternoon. As you ...may have already seen, three people drowned in three separate incidents, and another three needed to be resuscitated along our coastline. This brings the number of drowning deaths in Victoria since 1 July 2020 to 38, superseding the previous financial year’s total of 34. That’s an average of more than one fatal drowning each week. Even one drowning is one too many, so these figures are truly heart breaking. We want people to be able to enjoy our beautiful waterways, but you need to do it safely. Wherever possible, swim between the red and yellow flags at patrolled beaches and during patrolled times, always supervise kids and never underestimate the potential risks around water. Thank you to our incredible crews and our emergency services partners Victoria Police Ambulance Victoria and Vic Emergency who assisted with these incidents. Our thoughts and condolences are with everyone affected by these tragic events.

09.01.2022 This week, we celebrate and recognise the generous contributions of our volunteers as part of National Volunteers Week. Our Surf Life Saving Australia volunteer...s performed more than 10,000 rescues throughout the season, contributing more than 1.3 million hours to keep watch across our coastline. And this week, we stop to say thanks. Read more: bit.ly/NVW-20 #NVW2020 #waveforvolunteers Volunteering Australia
