25.01.2022 Today we release our Annual Report. This report outlines another great year for PCYC NSW and we are very proud to show you the hard work that went into delivering the educational, multicultural, vocational, sport, recreation, social justice and crime prevention programs and activities across 64 clubs. During the year, we changed the lives of thousands of young people and marked the first anniversary of the NSW Police Commissioner's RISEUP strategy. Providing opportunities ...for young people to flourish has resulted in significant reductions in youth crime and anti-social behaviour across the state. We hope you will enjoy this report and be part of Team PCYC in the future as we work towards another year of encouraging and developing young people across NSW to reach their potential. 24.01.2022 The way we feel about ourselves, our world and our future is so much at the front of conversations at the moment. At PCYC NSW we encourage you to check in with yourself, your friends and your family, to find out how you are feeling about life right now. National Mental Health Month October is a great reminder to reflect and be present this month and every month. If when you check in you find that you need help, please reach out to someone who can help you build self-awareness..., make effective choices, reduce the impact of worry, and build positive connections. Its not a sign of weakness - we all need support and to have a safe place to talk. 20.01.2022 Highlands Cricket planning to play in October While cricket has long been Australia’s favourite sport, this season, we also aim to be Covid safe while offering our local participants some much needed relief from the stressors of 2020. Highlands District Cricket Association (HDCA) Chair, and former International Cricket Council (ICC) Elite Panel Umpire, Simon Taufel believes that connection is now more important than ever in the lives of our community members and is precisely ...what cricket stands for. Cricket offers those involved the ability to create strong and enduring life skills. The game teaches us how to make long lasting friendships, thrive in a team environment, develop self-esteem, build confidence and cultivate a resilience mindset. Everything we’re all seeking right now. Mr Taufel said. In the Highlands, we have a rich cricket cultural heritage, having former Australian national representatives Sir Donald Bradman, Bill O’Reilly and Tina MacPherson substantially linked to us. The tradition has continued with our younger players Lauren Cheatle, Dom O’Shannessy, Hayden Kerr, Charlie Dummer and Jack Preddy, just to name a few who've represented at higher levels. Taufel went on the say We’re lucky to have such hard-working volunteers committed to providing everyone the opportunity to play, umpire, coach or support cricket. The local game is nothing without our tremendous team who love the sport and want to see as many people as possible enjoy all it has to offer. The HDCA encourages everyone, from the young to the young at heart, to contact their local cricket club or the umpire’s association and get involved in cricket this season. Club contacts can be found via the HDCA website page: http://www.highlandsdca.nsw.cricket.com.au///iv/clubs.aspx? See more
