13.01.2022 Youth Support Worker, Justine has been working together with bright young ladies Paula and Ursula to improve their lives holistically, and both ladies are eager to make something good of their lives and do good. The young ladies have taken a big leap and applied for the Indigenous Youth Mentoring Project (IYMP) in Brisbane. Once their applications are assessed, IYMP will invite the young ladies down for a Testing and Assessment period which will allow the girls to be exposed to the program and career development with the IYMP staff. 04.01.2022 PCYC Aurukun has collaborated with Rachel from YETI , Katherine and Clara from Apunipima Cape York Health Council and Tina and Bill from the community centre to deliver 2 weekly sexual health sessions for girls and young women. These sessions are being held to help educate and empower females about sexual health and all areas that it covers. We have had a couple of sessions and we have had great enthusiasm from some ladies from community and look forward to continue running sessions in the future. A big thankyou to Leona for coming and being a great role model for our girls.
