25.01.2022 Ready for Work is still running at Beenleigh PCYC! If you are aged between 15-24 and are currently looking for work then this program could be for you! You will receive help with: - Resume preparation and writing... - Job interview skills - Job search advice, including where to look for work, how to apply for work and understanding employer expectations Networking opportunities with local businesses and employers to share their experiences and industry knowledge Employability skills such as communication in the workplace, working in a team, problem solving and planning and organising. We are currently providing a rolling intake with individualised support for those eager to do what they can. 24.01.2022 Yesterday saw us enter the last week of our current Get Set for Work Program with completion of another project at the Beenleigh Historical Village, followed by a cooking workshop making burgers that would put any major burger franchise to shame. 20.01.2022 We just wanted to let you know that we still have a few vacancies for our next Get Set for Work Program which will commence on Monday 1st February. The program runs for 10 weeks, 5 days per week and is for young people aged between the ages of 16-19 years (15 year olds with an exemption). The program is for young people who are not currently ‘earning or learning’. The initiative is to teach life skills job skills and a work ethic. This prepares young people for a job and a ...career. Possibly the greatest benefit of this program is that the participants gain an adult perspective on their own future, and a direction to take. To those who are academically challenged, this program gives the confidence to make the transition from school life to working life. This program has had great success in re-engaging students back in to education/school or in to employment. The enrolment process involves an interview with the young person and a guardian to determine if they are ready to undertake a GSFW program.
