So, instead we took advantage of our new air conditioner and spent time playing, doing craft and all round keeping cool!... We have decided that the new air con was very well timed!

23.01.2022 Vision Program Broken Hill Community Markets We are all set up and ready to go!!... We were recently the recipients of an very generous donation! Upon closing his online clothing business, and seeing the results of both our Vision Porgram and Boxing Programs, the owner has gifted all of his left over stock to us. We have a huge range of shirts that will cater to all of your musical tastes. So call on down to the markets this morning and pick up a shirt or more. Remember Christmas is just around the corner and these would make great gifts! All money raised will go directly to our boxing and sports programs. #empoweringyoungpeople

20.01.2022 School has ended for another year and young people now face a 15.6% youth unemployment rate*. We don't need to tell you that times are hard. The Covid crisis and increase in youth unemployment means PCYC NSW needs to help young people more than ever. Recently we shared Harrison and Kirsty’s stories. They show how your generous donations as a supporter of PCYC can help turn around young lives. We know our Fit for Work program, run in partnership with NSW Police, makes a real... and practical difference. With your help, Fit For Work can continue to help young people who need direction, skills and mentoring now. Please invest in the future of our youth, because together we can help our young people survive and thrive. Thank you for supporting PCYC NSW and for making a difference. 20.01.2022 PCYC Broken Hill Turns 75! It has been a big year for everyone. But in the middle of everything, our Club reached an important milestone. We are very privileged to have served the Broken Hill Community for an incredible 75 years.... This has given us time to reflex on our past, celebrate our present and be excited and re-focus on our future. We have managed to unearth pieces of our history, right down to the first Visitor’s Book which has entries from the day the club opened on the 19th of July 1945. It has been a very proud moment for us here at the club who are lucky enough to carry on the Legacy born so many years ago and to be out promoting our club to the community with the help of our visiting guests, CEO Dominic Teakle, CFO Craig Becroft and GM strategic Partnerships and Findraising, Simon Gerathy.

18.01.2022 Vacation Care Camp day!!!! We loved designing our own tents that much that we did it twice!!!!... The rainy day limited our play options but we adapted! We build our tents and campfires in the morning. Then happily pulled them down so that we could play various games in the hall. Great thing about that? We got to do it all again!

14.01.2022 Vision Program A group of our Vision Program Participants have been working very hard recently and we thought they deserved a little time out and to be acknowledged and rewarded for their efforts. * A huge thank you to the kids who manned the market stall last weekend to sell T- shirts for our latest fundraising venture. It was a hot day and they did a great job.... * With our recent celebrations looming on us, it made us proud that a small group got in and took pride in making sure the club was presented in the best light possible. These participants got in and help to mop, clean and set up so we were all set to go on our big day. Well done guys and thank you!

14.01.2022 Young people have suffered the most from the economic fallout of Covid-19. School leavers face a 14.5% youth unemployment rate. Entry-level jobs normally filled by young people are no longer available. PCYC NSW recognises the vulnerability of our youth, and that some need extra support. Together with NSW Police Force we are working hard to provide programs that make a real, practical difference. When Harrison took part in the PCYC NSW RISEUP Fit For Work program, school wasn’...t working for him. With the help of PCYC NSW he changed his attitude and put in the effort to get the skills he needed to start his plumbing apprenticeship. He has turned his life around. You can help more young people like Harrison succeed in the future, because your donation to PCYC’s Fit For Work program makes a real difference. Please give generously to help empower our youth. Thank you. https://bit.ly/FitForWorkHarrison #donatenow #empoweringyoungpeople #RISEUP #FitForWork

13.01.2022 Vacation Care Well it was a huge, fun filled week for the first week of 2021! We not only rang in the New Year and visited the camels, we created our own beach houses out of Lego, we made boats out of cardboard boxes and had a little disco.... Check out the photos of some of the things we got up to! There are very limited spaces left in the program, so if you are looking for care for your child/ren, head onto our website: https://pcycoosh.org.au/ To secure a spot!

12.01.2022 PCYC All Stars It was a short Basketball season this year thanks to COVID and it has come to an end. Our Under 18 team played their last game tonight. The team that walked out onto the court 6 weeks ago was a far different team to the one that played tonight. ... Well done boys, you have improved out of sight. A huge thank you to Adam who has guided the team and to Bailey who stepped in as an assistant coach to cover nights that Adam wasn’t available. Well done to all, you have made us very proud and you should be proud of yourselves!

12.01.2022 Secret Santa It would appear that the PCYC has it’s very own special Secret Santa. We are looking for donations of any drought resistant or native plants for this project. 10.01.2022 Christmas Break The Club be closed from Thursday 24th December through until Monday 4th January. Great news though.... Our boxing program for both Children and Adults will continue to run throughout the rest of the holiday period (excepting that 12 days).

09.01.2022 Good news, bad news, great news!! The Good News is that our days are warming up and there is more day light to run our outdoor activities! The Bad News is that for this entire week our main hall will be out of action and unusable. Therefore all activities usually run in there (including archery will have to be cancelled). Never fear, all other activities are still going.... The Great news is, that thanks to a grant from the Community Building Partnership and support from local business, Sumtin Electrical, a new air conditioning system will be installed this week into the main hall! So, please, bare with us this week. This has all come together in perfect time with school holidays just around the corner. We look forward to a comfortable summer for everyone!!

If you are looking for after school care for your child/children, call 0491 053 185 or call into the club to secure a spot.

06.01.2022 Vacation Care And... that’s a wrap! It has been such a huge school holidays and we have sadly come to an end.... But every end means a new beginning! We look forward to after school on Monday seeing every body and hearing about their first day of the last term for the year! Thank you to all the children that come and spent their holidays with us, thank you to our Vacation Care families for supporting us and lastly a huge thank you to the OOSH staff who have gone above and beyond and organised an incredible program filled with fun from start to finish.

06.01.2022 Vacation Care Today we had a visit from the Police Officers, who are based out of our club, who spoke with us about all things to do with our bikes and safety. After that we went out and practiced everything we learnt on our bike track!... With the warmer weather we spent the rest of the day being cool.

05.01.2022 A Blast from the Past We were very happy when 2 past Presidents and Life Governors from the club walked back through the door today. Mr David Brennan and Mr Les McQuillan came in and donated some jackets from a by-gone era.... They were very proudly wearing their own jackets and were very informative and had some wonderful stories from their time here. Thanks to both for the time and effort today!

05.01.2022 Fit for Life And we are back for Term 4! Great turn out for our first week back for the term. We were pleased to welcome a few new faces who have joined our group.... Due to the increase in numbers, we are looking and splitting into 2 separate groups to run parallel activities on the same day. This will give us the chance to cater more readily for the differences in ages and abilities. A huge shout out to Coles for the donation towards our yummy breakfast and their ongoing support. Also to McLeods bakery for their weekly donation of bread. This program is only possible with the support of these local businesses.
