25.01.2022 Mount Isa PCYC is excited to now have COVID Safe Check Ins at our gym. You will notice the posters on all entry points to the gym facility now have the QR code. 25.01.2022 GET SET FOR WORK PROGRAM Expressions of Interest are open. GET SET FOR WORK PROGRAM IS COMING TO MOUNT ISA!!!!!... Get Set for Work is a Queensland Government's Skilling Queenslanders for Work initiative. Through a suite of targeted skills and training programs, Skilling Queenslanders for Work aims to improve the skills, employment opportunities and social inclusion of disadvantaged Queenslanders. Program overview Get Set for Work aims to provide young people aged 1519 years with nationally recognised training, combined with integrated learning support measures and foundation skills, that will enable them to successfully transition to employment and/or further education and training. We are taking EXPRESSIONS of INTEREST NOW for possible participants. Program will be commencing in Term 2 of 2021. Young people will earn a CERTIFICANT 2 IN HOSPITALITY and employable skills. If you know a young person who is disengaged from education, aged between 15-19 years, we have a great program for them. 08.01.2022 Mount Isa PCYC Skate Park Event Last Friday we held the Mount Isa Skate Park Event at the Fun Precinct. Youth Support Officer Jaz, encouraged and recruited all our wonderful entrants, who did not fail to disappoint. Entrants has 3 mins to showcase their skills and ability in front of a awesome crowd. Entrants were judged by a panel of experts before winners were announced. ... This event was so well supported by the community and other youth agencies including YPA Headspace Centacare Save the Children We need to say a massive thank you to the following companies who supported this event including Isa Fencing, MC Scaffolding who kindly donated the enclosure for the event valued at $1,700 Mount Isa City Council for the use of the Skate Park for our event Centacare for donation of prizes Mental Health Network for donating of prizes Mokoda Clothing for donation of prizes and judging panel. Mental Health Network for donation of prizes We would like to congratulate the amazing Jaz for her determination for this event to occur. 05.01.2022 Last night we said goodbye and good luck to previous Club Manager Sergeant Gina Scott. Sergeant Gina dedicated nearly 8 years to improving the lives of so many young people in our communities. Sergeant Gina is passionate, dedicated and inspired a whole generation of young people to be the best they could be. We wish Sergeant Gina all the very very best in her new policing adventure in the South East corner. Our loss is their gain. ... Sergeant Gina you have left a long-term legacy in our community and you will never be forgotten.

We wish Donella, Jade and Angela all the best :-) SYLP is a six day five night camp held at the PCYC Bornhoffen Camp in the Gold Coast Hinterland. It is a multi-stage personal development, leadership development and community development training designed for young people involved with PCYC however it also assists young people in skill...s for school, life, community and future work.
